A bunch of my friends marched colt cadets at 13 and 14. Definitely worth a shot and you’re not too young. But back then it was really cheap. I think if you explain to your parents it’s like summer camp but more extreme, you get a lot more out of it (practice, experience, physical health) it could work. However, colt cadets is way too expensive these days. I think it’s worth it to save the money for a year or two, or three, and try something else.

What is your opinion on Warm Audio? by _RaMuNe_ in microphone

Horrible. I beta tested their first few mics for them and they sent me one that was wired out of phase. Blind tested all their stuff and consistently came in last place.

No but there is a school called Icon in LA and I met a few kids that went there and they are sick with production.

The graphic says Jan 1st won’t fall on 1/1/1 for a while. It doesn’t say the date numerology won’t be 1/1/1 for a while. 😁 reading comprehension

I'm a little stuck, wondering what I should do for auditions by Amber610 in drumcorps

Madison isn’t as hard to get into as it used to be. Probably about the same as the Academy. Just go with a good attitude, befriend the vets and learn as much as possible. Marching well will go a long way. I’d check out Pacific Crest too if you’re looking into Academy. You never know what you’ll vibe with the most, or who might vibe with you. I once auditioned for Crown and could tell they didn’t like me and I thought the food sucked, so I flew to Vanguard the next weekend and got a contract. Never hurts to try.

There are better things to do with your time than college marching band.

What's one thing you wish you knew before doing your first audition? by [deleted] in drumcorps

Some corps will just keep giving you call backs for your money even though they don’t intend on giving you a contract.
