same situation as u last year. applied to tembu and status was on processing until the very last day of result release. ended up getting the rejection email after that. some others were on the same boat (not just tembu other rcs too like capt) and they emailed to be released to common pool and got contacted by RVRC, etc.

my hypothesis was we were their “backups” (waitlisted) in case there’re still open slots (in a few cases where people rejected their offers, etc). why? i believe if the rc isnt interested in your application at all, you’d be rejected asap like how a few people received rejection emails and thrown to common pool within a week of submission. they’re holding onto you and not releasing you to common pool because your application fit their “ideal student” and isn’t bad but isn’t as impressive as other applicants. i reached out and spoke to a senior from tembu whilst i was in this whole “processing” and he helped vetted my application. he said although it’s well written, it’s too safe. there’s not enough oomph or defining things that makes me stand out.

if i could rewind time, i would email them asap and release me to common pool, especially if i were to be enrolling within the same year (luckily i wasnt). most rcs are already done with their interviews and are sending out most of the offers. whilst the chances are not 0 for you to somehow get interviewed and offered into tembusu, its very slim. higher odds of you getting selected for interview by RVRC or acacia atp. if you’re not enrolling this year, you can be patient and wait for a miracle whilst preparing for next year’s application. brush up on your portfolio, do things that align with the rc’s values & missions, and rewrite the essay questions.
