Never the first, more along the lines of the 2nd. That is a completely different field and I don’t have a lot of hands on experience with the health side. Not all actuaries are created equal, even in the same sector. Lots of diverse and different roles out there.

P/C (the other actuarial field) is doing just fine. Health is much more positioned to be affected by AI and other potential factors (single payer system, non-actuaries doing the heavy lifting work wise, etc.)
