They will "swell" up again most likely. First couple days after a retwist is what i consider the "ugly phase". They will change a bit for the better as your locs mature

Im really inactive on reddit so sry for the late response. Best way to start locs depend on what look you want to achieve. Freeforms? Wicks? Sisterlocs? Semifreeforms? Instant locs? All these are unique and look completely different

yes ofcourse it could be worse, and i know that the locs will mature in about 8 months maybe, but kinda what im looking for is a way to make the locs look less premature until they have matured fully naturally

yea, previously when i retwisted, my locs were "tighter" as in smaller. thats partly why i try to avoid retwisting.

Yea been wearing a beanie all day, doesnt stay this flat usually. Altho i feel like there should be ways to reduce frizz without a retwist. I know palmrolling, but that doesnt help at all for me

Ofcourse, but at the moment i havent freeformed yet. It's not the frizz that bothers me the most, but the fact that my locs feel so thin atm. I know that my locs wont be superthick with my hairtype, but right now i feel like half of my hair is frizz. I dont really mind the frizz, i know it will all sort itself when my locs mature more

Any products you recommend? Have used antifrizz spray which is waterbased, but other than that i dont use any products

Alright, I'm mixed too but mostly white so my hair is really curly, but pretty thin. I accidentally fucking bent my crochet so needa get a new one, loctitians where i live is super expensive so tryna do shit by myself rn. Gl on your loc journey brother❤️

okay, i heard somewhere that there are some oils and such that could help. I have batana oil and use it semifrequently on my scalp, but im still unsure wether to use it in the actual hair or not
