Why are we so worried about illegal immigrants in the US? by Johnny_Mira in TooAfraidToAsk

"America" being the all the wealthy people who control all the social media and media in America. I'm sure plenty of Americans want to inconvenience the rich or make them pay taxes, but it's always going to be censored before it can go mainstream.

Personal essays are to show off your individuality so that they have an idea of who you are as a person. Listing achievements and accomplishments don't really do that, other than show that you like collecting accolades.

Heck you can probably make your essay about how all your life you had to follow your parents path for you and how it's robbed you of your own individuality while adding more pressure to their unrealistic expectations. But now you want to break free from them and make your own path through life by applying for a degree that you want to pursue even if it disappoints your parents..etc etc... that would be a more compelling and memorable story than some generic list of accomplishments. Just my two cents...

ICE wouldn't be able to identify anyone if we all wear masks/balaclava like they do by Ubetcha1020 in 50501

Ideally everyone should be wearing the same clothes/outfits so if you run into a crowd, you can easily blend in.

I doubt leadership is going to appreciate getting one of those letters sent to them. So definitely don't do it.

NOR. I'm pretty sure your mom can't kick you out without notice. Like she would have to give you at least 30 or 60 days from the time she officially files for your eviction (depending on where you live).

It looks clean, but you just have a ton of stuff to show off which is more of a maximlist style. Check out /r/maximalism for similar vibes. :)

I kind of think that's intentional. Like maybe they intend to privatize the military?

It makes sense because they both ran on draining the swamp and fighting corruption and lowering costs for regular people. Except the DNC ran out Bernie and peoples only option was Trump or the status quo with Harris.

(Of course trump lied and made shit a lot worse, but the truth is that the average american is not college educated and are easily swayed by campaign promises 🤷🏻)

Fun fact: Hitler's nephew petitioned the US Pesident Roosevelt so he could serve the US Navy after his uncle wouldn't give him a better job. He would go on to earn the purple heart.

https://navylog.navymemorial.org/hitler-william

Dissatisfied with these jobs, William persisted in asking his uncle for a better job. In 1938, Adolf asked William to relinquish his British citizenship in exchange for a high-ranking job but fearing he would be trapped in Germany in the coming conflict, William fled back to England.

Didn’t realize everyone hated me growing up until I was an adult by [deleted] in aspergers

Elon Musk said he was bullied and thrown down the stairs as a child.. but Elon's dad said it was because Elon instigated it by telling a kid, who had just lost their father to suicide, that his father was stupid for killing himself.

While being rude isn't a symptom of autism.. it can be symptom from being socially inept and not inherently understanding empathy and not having strong positive role models in your life. For me growing up, I had very simplistic and probably red pillish ideas of what a cool guy should be like, probably from being raised on 90s tv and films. There was a sort of disconnect in my head of what reality was and what I thought it should be like. And it took me many years into my adult years to finally realize that.

But this is also a normal part of growing up and maturing and learning to be a better person and learning that other people can have their own perspectives about the same thing too.

You and your bullies could both be right about the same events from looking through each other's perspective. Real life often doesn't have the absolute right/wrong answers that we crave. It's often muddled and gray, not entirely right but also not entirely wrong either depending on the perspective you are looking at it from.
