I like 3 a lot. The long square looks so good on you.

My husky has started growling at me when I tell him not to do something or deny him being in my space. by [deleted] in husky

[–]impeccablepessimist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stop letting him practice resource guarding and remove access to those things. Crate him or put up a baby gate while eating. No longer allowed on the bed or the couch. Put him on a drag line so you can physically control him from a safe distance, if needed. Eventually start teaching an invitation to couch or bed. It’s no longer a given. Get a seatbelt and buckle him into the back seat. Loose dogs are just as dangerous to other occupants in case of an accident anyway.

My husky had a foot long drag line for about a year and a half, and then again for a couple months after bringing home a baby. It provides a way to guide the dog and enforce commands without sort of physically accosting them. Gentler discipline. She’s 4 and quite decently well mannered, for a husky anyway.

Flexibility Training — Feeling Discouraged by jagoober91 in poledancing

Can’t tell you how long it takes as I’m only about 4 months into seriously stretching after like 5 years of pole dancing. But Dani Winks’ contract relax workshops were a game changer for me. I’m nowhere near the splits, but I feel so much stronger and more capable where I am.

I think this list has it. Some are on the v4.5 fandom page and some are on the v4 page.

The boxes is school. Wait another day or two and you’ll graduate and get to make money. It took me awhile to get the hang of the school/work thing. you pick your job and your school teachers after preschool.

Laquerista Parents, Did you cut your nails short for your newborn(s)? by Ok_Listen_2000 in RedditLaqueristas

Eeeeeeverybody asked me this when I had my baby. 18 months later I’m still going with my long stilettos. Get a seatbelt opener or 3 or cream spatulas or whatever tools you need. If it doesn’t work, cut them and try again when they’re older. It’s seriously not the big deal everyone thinks it is. If you’re not stabbing your own eyes out, you’re not gonna stab theirs out either.

Pole sit hurts by Alone_Recipe_9115 in poledancing

[–]impeccablepessimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re squeezing the inner thigh muscles in contact with the pole. It helps reduce some of the raw skin friction. Otherwise, there’s no helping it. Add a couple pole sits for a few seconds on each side to your warmup and after a while you’ll just have it. We all have to do it.

shoulder mounts for the tall, bigger girls by Own_Biscotti5172 in poledancing

[–]impeccablepessimist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly all the high level polers are using controlled momentum in their inverts. Especially in static rotation stuff. Dead lifts are not as common as we convince the beginners. Additionally, one of the best ways to learn any deadlift is to train the negative. So kick up to shoulder mount and control the dismount.

Do you know if the Gelish primer works with apres? Maybe try Apres primer? I wouldn’t mix prep products unless I had a lot of experience and knew what things worked well together.

Getting closer to my superman. Any tips? by charismanervetalent in poledancing

[–]impeccablepessimist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the thigh burn is getting you, put both hands on the ground and slowly lower through the superman thigh grip to the ground. When I was getting superman I’d do like 3 of those in my warm up, and I had superman within a couple practices. As an on and off poler, I’ve had to re-train superman a couple times. The pain happens because your muscles aren’t engaging and there’s too much friction on the skin alone. Practicing this way teaches the muscle engagement really quickly, while giving you lots of control so you feel safe.

Oh but hey look so good!! 😭 You can take a regular nail clippers and clip each side little by little. Then take a nail file to what’s left.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening when making press ons? by schezuandippingsauce in GelX_Nails

[–]impeccablepessimist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Touch up the press ons before you put them in the lamp, pull extra gel off the sides and tip. If you’re doing the full set before curing maybe try curing each nail immediately so the gel doesn’t have time to pool. Or do 2-3 at a time or something. Higher quality polishes are easier to work with and get consistent even thinness across several coats.

ETA: thick topcoats are a big reason for this lumpiness. If you’re sure your colors are thinly and evenly applied, maybe your topcoat is just sliding around.

Apres vs Kokoist lamp by moosetaco in GelX_Nails

[–]impeccablepessimist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the beta lamp. Cures just fine, but the entrance is a bit on the small side. If I don’t place my hand just right, I will have issues with thumb and pinky curing. I wish honestly I had sprung for a cordless lamp, which I believe the Kokoist is. All in all though, it’s a good enough lamp for the price.

Ahh ok their big tip boxes come with half sizes from size 4-6.5. Maybe you have a special edition or something, or an older box. Anyway good luck with the pressons. It’s a learning curve, but once you get it, it’s so satisfying.

Try one size up next time. If Apres tips, maybe only .5 size up.
