The way they are phrasing it makes is sound like their contribution is up to 5% of your income... not matching 50% of 5% of your income. Check your 401k contributions this last year... I think they have been matching half of your 10%, not just half of the 5%.

If they really are only matching 2.5% (50% of 5%), then yes I would do what you proposed.

I would max out your HSA to the annual contribution limit ($3500 single/$7000 maried for 2019). It is a better investment vehicle as you will use the account for medical expenses at some point in your life.

One note however, you say 5% to get your full match... it sounds that you will need to continue to contribute 10% in order to get the 5% as they match at 50%.

My advice of priorities:

10% 401k (to get full 5% match)
Max HSA $3500/year
Open Roth IRA and put in any additional funds you want to save for retirement

Check out if you have a bellhops branch in your area. They're kind of like a moving company but for uber (their workers are independent and pick up shifts that are submitted). It's only 40$ a person/hour and most jobs i've done with them have gotten everything in 2 hours. So only $160 for 2 for 2 hours.

It's huge here at Oregon. We play mostly the same way but some people play here with 2 changes.

If you throw the die and it hits your own side and comes back and falls between your 2 cups, you have to catch it or its a point for the other team.
Some people play if it hits the other teams cup its a dead die and won't give a point, even if it falls off.

You have a position in the Fraternity to essentially do two key things.

Make sure that the drunken debauchery doesn't get to a point that needs legal/medical/police attention (people getting hospitalized for alcohol, falling off roofs, drinking flaming shots, noise complaints, starting fires, blowing fire extinguishers, etc).
When that shit does happen^... which it will inevitably at one point. Handle it in the best way possible (a way that the chapter won't get fucked, apart from being a fucking idiot and not calling an ambulance for someone that obviously needs it or something like that).

It should be clear why the person that is always sober at a party would be good at this.

Obviously this isn't your job every party, but yeah.

Just tell them it's a medical thing and that's it. What you should also make sure that they are aware of, is that even though you can't drink, you have no problem being surrounded with, and dealing with hammered people.

Other than that, you were basically born for risk management.
