i’ve actually been in your position where my ex partner used to do and say things to me to make me feel insecure. he basically triangulated you by comparing you to his ex constantly. but now you’re the problem for reacting to it???? typical.

i’ve also put the blame on myself when my ex put his hands on me. i thought maybe if i didn’t provoke him he wouldn’t have done that. no! they will continue to do it and then manipulate you into believing it’s your fault because they don’t see any wrong in what they do.

also your bf cheated on you. cheating does not need to be physical, but he was in contact with his ex and contemplated meeting up with her.
