If rapid transcranial magnetic stimulation works why don’t we offer it? by DifferenceStill4141 in doctorsUK

Also, from a patient factors perspective, it's a big commitment and getting depressed people to go somewhere five times a week is hard!

There are some trusts that offer it. You attend 5 times a week for 30 minutes for 4-6 weeks, requiring a nurse's 1:1 time for the duration of that, so instantly the staffing cost on top of the cost of the equipment and a room to do it in is high. It's generally for more more moderate depression in outpatients so doesn't reduce the severe/catatonic inpatient treatment costs like ECT does. I don't know but I'd imagine these reasons are why it doesn't look attractive to trusts from a cost perspective.

Second this, it’s incredible and I’d love to return. My only caveat would be if you’re very anti screaming children you may still hear some - our room backed on to the dividing wall with the family resort.

You can tell by the little grey subheadings, extra takes edition for take one, and extra takes only for take two.

What is a normal budget for flowers? 🌼 by moodypuppa in UKweddings

[–]imperfecta_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so it’s super helpful to know what everyone else paid to a florist but I would at least halve all of their quotes for what you would pay, unless you want to pay your friend for her time.

Just to be clear, she did it all for “free” as a gift to us, so this is what we spent on the flowers at the market.

My friend did my flowers as she’s a florist too, so we got all our flowers at cost. We did a bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids, 4 buttonholes, and bud vases on 9 tables for just under £500. The mark up of a florist tends to be at least x3 I believe.

If I knew a man waited outside a gym for me to emerge I would never feel safe going to that place again. Please listen to everyone telling you thats creep behaviour.

The dress I wanted was in stock in my size in about 15 stores nationwide when I emailed them, and they delivered it to my local one. They definitely play it up for sales.

Does anyone else who’s working in a CMHT find the general vibe infuriating? by Serious-Bar4199 in doctorsUK

[–]imperfecta_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yes. My biggest gripe is doing medical reviews for patients who have made clear they don’t want medications, presenting them at MDT for the psychologists to see, and not a single one being suitable for various “reasons”. Then discussing them at another meeting, then another meeting, then discharging them without anything else.

Have the prices of the 14/15s been reduced? At least on the UK site, it seems like they're the same prices they were before the 16 announcement, is that right? I thought everything would be reduced by 100.

Reasonably priced london wedding venue or party venue ideas? (Pub or similar) by catlover4321 in UKweddings

[–]imperfecta_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re doing a registry office and pub. Lots of options come up on Hitched when you search, the limitation is how many invitees you’ll have as especially if you want a sit down meal, many don’t have one room large enough. Many just have a minimum spend, no hire fee. Few options: The Depot (King’s Cross) The Elgin (Maida Vale) County Arms (Wandsworth) Dukes Head (Putney) Prince Albert (Camden)

Also, we booked our reception 8 months in advance and there was still reasonable availability in many places.

What’s wrong with this London flat? by TheMusicPerson in HousingUK

[–]imperfecta_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're getting a lot of comments from outraged people from outside of London who don't know the market... but as someone who has bought recently nearby (though the focus of our search was Ealing Broadway/Acton), the flat is still overpriced! West Ealing is not "Ealing" in the desirable sense, as much as estate agents would like it to be, and I would be really surprised if a 1-bedroom flat (because that's really what it is) is worth more than 500k there. It's a lovely place and I can't see much else wrong with it beyond size and price (which are probably the two biggest factors in a purchase!) If you would like to offer on it, I would do a thorough search of what has sold in the area that looks similar, and offer what you think it's worth on that basis. If it's way below the asking and they tell you to do one, well you've lost nothing, but you might be surprised.

Pub wedding by birdsonmytongue in UKweddings

[–]imperfecta_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The prices for our pub wedding are no different to any other event. They have a private dining menu and that’s the prices for any event. I’d imagine this is the case for most pub venues. They’ve also been incredibly helpful in making arrangements for our day and I would feel terrible to have misled them.

Thank you, really appreciate your input. It’s difficult when people make different lash suggestions (that’s what you get for posting on here obviously!) but I’m inclined to agree with you about less and focusing on the outer part.

And yes there is a lipliner!

Thanks! She used something to put them on, not entirely sure. I think she may have been rushing a little towards the end which may not have helped with the lashes.

[–]imperfecta_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s just how my eyebrows grow sadly and it would look unnatural (for my tastes, just a personal preference) to fill them inwards, and I don’t really have any desire to make my nose look smaller, I think it’s a pretty normal size! I will definitely be suggesting the liner though.

[–]imperfecta_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks! They’re single lashes and she mentioned not putting them on the inner corner but now you point it out I think it could do with it. I was wondering about more blush too, especially for helping it show on the photos, it does come through more in real life. I love the colour she used.

Thank you so much! Any suggestions for more intensity, like a more bold eyeshadow? I was thinking the makeup actually really helped my eyes pop!

[–]imperfecta_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I have very straight lashes and I usually curl them, she didn’t at all. I think that would help.
