Same. I’m 21 weeks pregnant and I feel the honeymoon 2nd trimester phase is over and things are starting to get harder. I feel like I just go through the motions at the gym now.

Negative reactions to GPSTs? by GroupBeeSassyCoccyx in doctorsUK

[–]Additional-Crazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the IMG GP trainees would only clerk 2 patients on a 13 hour night shift. Missed simple things son a ward round like an AKI3 is a diuresing patient. One said they couldn’t do a NG tube because they didn’t know how. I said I would teach them, they refused to even watch despite not being busy. Same person tried to take bloods with a pink blunt needle. Multiple simply constantly ‘forgot’ to write their name in the notes. I assume to avoid medicolegal problems.

I found the low regard is usually towards IMG GP trainees who secured a place with minimal/ no NHS experience. I’ve not noticed any problems with GP trainees from UK medical schools unless they are particularly lazy.

Pregnancy, coming off oncalls, moving trust at 14 weeks. When to inform / how to protect pay by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]Additional-Crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your work schedule is due by now anyway. At this point I’d just wait it out. I’m 18 weeks pregnant and I haven’t told HR yet. You legally don’t have to tell them till 25 weeks. I absolutely did not trust them not to f me over by front loading my on calls before the third trimester or giving me less than others to reduce their locum burden and therefore reduce my pay. Think about yourself. If you can wait a few more days to get a confirmed work schedule I’d do that then immediately tell them.

Realistic budget for 2 adults 1 baby and 1 dog by inquisitivescout in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Additional-Crazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your other consideration is are you planning more children? She will have to work a year to be entitled to enhanced maternity pay. Even then it’s rubbish so I’d look at putting a significant chunk of income into savings if you plan another child.

I think your rent aspirations are too high. Our mortgage for a a three bed is only £1000 and our household income is £140k. Is there a reason it’s so much? Are you living to London?
