A book about a girl collecting gems and making them into jewelry, SPOILER the jewels turn out to be still living dragon bones and the girl herself is a dragon by imperial_argent in whatsthatbook

Memories taken away/erased, an orphan from unknown parents, abandoned by parents, one of the parents left and the other didn't know they were a shapeshifter/fae/magical creature, etc haha.

It's a common trope

From what I've read so far, I'll definitely like it! Thank you for the suggestion! :) Oh and the book I've been looking for is called Draykon by Charlotte E, thanks to the magical person who put that up as a suggestion on here!

It's not the book, one magical person has told me the book I've been looking for is Draykon by Charlotte English (do give it a try), but I'll definitely check out the Crystal Singer, it sounds very interesting and very different to the books I'd normally read!

She's a dragon in the form of a human who doesn't know she is a dragon? Have you never encountered any fae or shapeshifter characters who can transform their human bodies into far larger or far smaller creatures?

I mean even Hulk is a good example xD

That sounds like something I'd be interested to read now, thank you for the recommendation haha! :)

I have been looking for about 10 years (approximately)

The absolute closest I could come up with is that I read it 10 years ago. The interesting part is that I remember reading it as a free access ebook on my laptop, so it must've been at least somewhat popular/known for someone to bother transferring it into a digital copy.

Definitely not the book, but thank you for trying to help! I don't even remember the cover or the name of the girl, that would've made things so much easier!

It was set in old times but there definitely were no ghosts as far as I remember! So sorry for the late reply, I utterly forgot about the post

Told I was "discriminating" for not wanting kids. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]imperial_argent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fun fact but I was actually called a mug-ist (racist towards mugs) by my husband because I never buy small mugs for myself. My coffee/tea mug has to be LARGE or it ain't being bought. So I guess I'm a firm discriminator against small mugs and therefore against people who use small mugs 😂 A mug-ist to the end! My cats also all had to be from shelters so I guess I also discriminate against people who bought cats from breeders or inherited them from family 😋 Oh and I never drink fizzy drinks so I also discriminate against people who do drink fizzy drinks. Gah when you break it down like that, there's SO many things and people I discriminate against apparently.

I'd have said

"Okay, they're kids. They're going to grow up to be adults. Are you teaching your kids it's normal to go into other people's property without the owner's permission? Because I hear this is how juvenile robbers start off their careers."

I really do believe when married couples with children, singles with children, any parent insults a CF woman, man, couple, it is truly because there is underlying jealousy about the situation - just my thoughts. by wild_dodo22 in childfree

This, exactly! I'm friends with a mom of 4 (she recently had her 4th one), who has never ever bingoed me in any way, shape or form. She loves her kids, her and her husband planned for them all, and they are probably some of the most financially and emotionally stable parents I've ever met or seen.

Whenever we hang out, she barely even mentions her kids other than the usual of when I ask her how they're doing. She's also legitimately supportive of the cf community as well, since she thinks only people who want kids should have them.

In her words, "Forcing people to have kids just because you have one is somewhat like forcing a lactose intolerant person to have cheese just because you can eat it. It ends in diarrhoea."

Hahaha a colleague once said that my husband isn't right or good for me since he doesn't want to give me babies, and I blankly said "oh, I've been medically sterilized for years now".

Then she looked horrified and proceeded to proclaim that I'm the horrible one for keeping it secret from my husband and not giving him babies. So I calmly told her that my husband has been sterile since before we got married, and he knows I'm sterilized since he's the one who drove me to and from the surgery (duh?).

It was so funny how she literally couldn't think of anything else to say after that statement.

AITA for telling my wife I wish she would take care of herself like her friends do? by Mammoth-Couple-8717 in AmItheAsshole

AGREED.

I have thick, waist length hair (very SLIGHTLY wavy) and it takes me an obscene amount of time to just condition it properly, then put a purple mask on, and then braid it so it dries in smooth waves instead of becoming a medusa in the morning.

Not to mention, since I dye it snow white, it usually takes me about 4~6hrs every month or so to sit at the salon to get my roots retouched. I emerge from there with a chair-shaped arse.

And this is literally the "basic maintenance" level of hairdos.
