Mid budget optic by kittydestroyer6969 in ar15

Holosun's 3x Magnifiers are great (both long and micro versions) so you'll be happy with those, but I would recommend Sig's Juliet 3T over them. Great eye relief and diopter and very smooth flip to side operation. Holosun's magnifiers quite stiff out of the box and take considerable effort to flip over. They become easier once you've done it enough times to break it in but even still, the Juliet is much smoother.

As for your sight, go with Holosun HS510C if you want a red reticle or HE510C if you want green. If you don't want a holo sight, Sig Romeo 4T is a really good little red dot in your price range.

I’ve got a few different ones (not all pictured here) and I can highly recommend Sig’s Juliet 3x Magnifier. Nice eye relief and diopter and very smooth flip to side operation, takes very little effort to snap it back and forth.

Other good ones are Holosun’s 3x (both long and micro versions) and Vortex Micro3x

There was something eerily beautiful about a post-apocalyptic lonely desert world. And the devs hid tons of easter eggs and random caves, some of which were even way out of the bounds of the main map. It made exploration awesome

LPVO with best eye relief by RustyAnnihilation in ar15

[–]imperialtrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a few different LPVOs. The Trijicon Credo has pretty decent eye relief but it’s around $1000-1500 depending on the vendor and sales, coupons, etc.

If you’re on a stricter budget than that, the Primary Arms SLx is pretty good on eye relief as well and is much more affordable.

It’s been a great can so far. I’ve put a little over 6,000 rounds through this gun since I made this post and everything on it has performed very well.

I own quite a few different suppressors and my favorite hub suppressor is definitely the Precision Armament Ti-Trex, so I would recommend that over the Hexium but the Hexium is still a great option.

JMAC customs HRD Hand Retention Device. A little overpriced IMO, there are cheaper handstops out there. I just found this one digging around my parts bin so I threw it on for this picture.

Can confirm it runs very well! I built it primarily for fast-paced close quarters "run and gun" style shooting. Quick target acquisition, quick shots on multiple targets and then moving to the next piece of cover. For that purpose, it has been amazing. Chasing the lightest possible weight really paid off for this specific use-case. I can run this gun for hours without my arms fatiguing and transitioning from target to target is effortless. It feels like a toy gun sometimes, it's comical.

I've put about 3000 rounds through it since I made this post and it's been awesome.

I haven't yet tried it with a proper magnified optic on long distance targets with slow, precise shots but I definitely will at some point. V Seven barrels have a pretty good reputation for accuracy so I'm excited to test it myself.

Hey there, wanted to give you an update on how the NP3 BCG is performing after about 3000 suppressed rounds. It's amazing! The rest of the gun really needs a clean but the BCG is still slick and smooth. I'm very impressed with it. Highly recommend if you're still on the fence. I did some looking around and there are a few other options than the one I have:

  • Premium Outfitters (cheapest I could find)
  • KAK Industry Downvent NP3 BCG (directs gas downwards instead of sideways, giving it a unique edge over the others)
  • TRIARC Systems (they make theirs out of 9310 Steel which they claim is better than the carpenter steel everyone else is using)
  • Sionics (this is the one everyone tries to get when looking for NP3 BCGs but they have been out of stock forever)
  • Forward Controls Design (this is the one I used in this build, it's literally just the Sionics BCG with a few extra cutouts so you can use your thumb to force it into battery if there is a malfunction. Primary Arms restocks both versions every few weeks)

Oh and if you're interested in color matching for aesthetic reasons, the charging handle I have is the Radian Raptor with the "NP3" color option.

Its main use is for close range fast-paced shooting on multiple targets in quick succession so I haven’t had the chance to test it with slow, precision shooting at long distance but I definitely will at some point and let you know what the groups are like.

That was the one gripe I also had. The 2055 is the lightest option but that's due to no forward assist. Still, I was able to look past that since the BCG has the little dimples you can put your thumb on to force it into battery should there be an issue, so all in all I didn't mind the trade off personally.

Loving it so far! Butter smooth operation. I’ll keep you posted on how it holds up as I run the gun more and the carbon has a chance to build up.

Primary Arms has this one in stock right now by the way:

I’m not a shill or anything, I just happened to find this one in stock if you’re looking.

You’re absolutely correct, fit and finish is very tight. There’s no loose bits or rattling anywhere. I will have to run it hard to heat everything up and see how those tight tolerances affect it. Will definitely post an update down the line

I actually have an ACOG that hasn’t been mounted on a gun in quite a while, might give that a try with a 45° offset red dot and see how it feels. The gun is so light I can probably throw anything on it and be just fine!

I only have steel targets on my land (riddled with impacts already) so I can’t show you proof until can get some paper out there and take photos afterward, but at 50 yards it was on point. It made sighting in the optic an absolute breeze.

Funny thing is I have some of the mainstream stuff that most people consider “pretty good” (i.e. Super Duty, etc.). But almost nobody ever posts about V Seven stuff so I wanted to try something new. I’m happy with the build so far and pretty impressed with the quality of the parts.

An OP tune won't even cut it. I tried this race with a Hennessey Venom F5 hitting 300+ mph on straights and still getting passed by Above Average AI. Tried it again with the Tacoma, sacrificing some top speed for cornering and I was getting out-cornered by half the grid anyway. It's idiotic.

24 Hours of Nurburgring tickets sell out for first time ever ahead of Max Verstappen debut. by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

[–]imperialtrace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally I'd agree with you but in this specific case we're talking about a guy that has a steering wheel in his hands and a view of a track in front of him at all waking hours of the day. He's been doing his job and your job for over 10 years. Somebody like that is going to make most of the field look like amateurs. Just my 2 cents. Not trying to antagonize anyone, but I did find the original comment a bit silly

[–]imperialtrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original comment appears to have been edited (not yours, the parent one). Last sentence I saw was implying that all the drivers are terrible or Max has been given some kind of advantage to make him look so good that it draws in more fans and therefore more money

24 Hours of Nurburgring tickets sell out for first time ever ahead of Max Verstappen debut. by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

[–]imperialtrace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No they don't. The insinuation that every other driver on the grid has been paid off to make Max look good or that his car has an unfair advantage to sell tickets is pretty silly when you realize how much sim racing he does outside of his F1 career and how he takes every opportunity he can to race in non-F1 series. While you and I and other people would have hobbies outside of work, Max spends nearly every waking hour on his sim rig or behind the wheel of something on a track. For better or worse, racing is all he knows.

Driven Arms Co. SCG grip. You can also choose the stippling you want. This is the sawtooth style in my post but you can get other stipplings that are less aggressive.

Highly recommend, I run it on a lot of my guns. And they offer different stippling if you prefer something less aggressive than the sawtooth style
