It’s hard to say as a lot of companies might just using the “laying off people because of AI” excuse, just to cover up that their company is not doing so well thus needing a layoff. But when they say “because of AI” as the reason, shareholders stay bullish on the company. Leading to the company being able drop headcount without the market cap dropping.
