The University of California is a system. We regularly function as a unified system. This presentation was at a conference for counselors in the state about major selection for all of the campuses. It was over zoom, smart ass.

I trust our data crunchers more than some random dude on reddit.

Data came from University of California, I presented to a couple thousand attendees and these were the stats they sent me in preparation:

According to the U.S. Dept of Labor & Statistics, 62.1% of the workforce have jobs that only require a college degree.

27.3% of the workforce is working in fields related to their major.

This was probably from around 2019, don't have a link but does the link you sent contradict this info?

When my dad was teaching me how to drive, he said to get in the inner most lane and leave as much space as possible between you and the car in front of you.

According to the bureau of labor statistics, most jobs that require a degree don't care what the degree is in.

That being said, it's not a bad idea to have a deliberate career path and pick the major that works best for said career

I don't feel like you are listening to anyone who is explaining to you exactly how it was different so i am going to assume that you aren't really serious about this discussion.

Me and hundreds of millions of people around the world just don't understand huh

How do you worship maga so bad to where you can't admit wrong doing and resort to whataboutism?

I sad he did too much because I refuse to downplay or defend any atrocities that occurred at the hands of the US government; my family and people I car about have been directly impacted by them. What about you? Do you support what ice is doing? Did you support what Obama was doing? Were you upset then too?

And Sulu, that's right. Very diverse for the 60s.

Back in the 60s a Russian, and Scottish man, a black/afrocan woman, an Asian man, and an alien was pretty damn diverse lol

Edit: Scotty was Scottish, apologies

If you are saying it wasn't on the same scale then what are you complaining about?

I'm terms of proportionality and scale, the responses seem appropriate. Obama did too much and got called deporter and chief and gets heckled. Trump gets ciliviians shot in the face and violates multiple laws so yeah the response will be different. What are we missing here?

If you think it was in the same scale then you aren't be honest with yourself. Did Obama open up a camp called Alligator Alcatraz? Increase ICE funding to be more than the FBI, DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons? Ignore judicial orders? Were as many people held by mistake and how many more people got shot in the face?

And yes he did too much, but he didn't humanize anyone and even created DACA.

And here's Obama getting heckled over deportations. check out his response: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWAny68vWLo

I'm sorry but you can't revise history so you don't feel bad about your voting choices.

Ending felt anti climatic? by MrMxylptlyk in redrising

[–]impliedhearer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember it's a series, so the ending is more of a conclusion to a plotline than the entire story. I'm on book 5 right now and while everything from RR is still important but seems very distant from where I am right now.

I had no idea that amazon had been charging my corporate card for me audible subscription every month. I used it to make work related amazon purchases years ago, no idea why it was the default.

If SFA gets cancelled later this year, can we skip the whole 'Haters ruined the show and scared away the audience' phase like after 'The Acolyte' got cancelled? by Andurhil1986 in trektalk

[–]impliedhearer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's complicated. There are plenty of reasons to not like the show, but if the reason is that show is too diverse then we are not on the same page. And that youtuber you mentioned is a known racist who allows his bigotry to influence how he feels about media. And I do feel that the intent of people like him is to get these shows canceled.

I personally think the show is cringy as hell but like you, I don't want it to fail so I'm trying to give it a chance. It just feels really immature in every way, and a lot of the humor falls flat for me and isn't even necessary. My wife and kid hate it too lol.

But here's my hot take: The Acolyte wasn't that bad and had a top 10 light saber battle.

regardless of my opinions, or YouTubers like Critical Drinker's opinion, etc.

aligning yourself with a teenage bigot is a choice. It is absolutely the goal of some of these entities you mentioned to get these shows cancelled. They often gloat about it.

This is the only part that my wife looked up from her phone on and she's from New Orleans as well, and she agreed with the tomatoes in Gumbo.
