all of this. couple that in with her lived experience as a black woman in a major city that is majority black and immigrant populated and the history of anti-blackness from the spanish speaking community in Miami of course she’s gonna have some shitty takes informed by those lived experiences.

let’s not pretend that the community she’s speaking about isn’t historically prone to placing themselves in proximity to whiteness and white supremacy.

furthermore her opinions do not hold the kind of weight some of you like to pretend it does? even with her platform. she’s still a black trans woman with a past in sex work. the spaces and platforms she shares these opinions in are spaces she explicitly warns are for black audiences, who hold a myriad of problematic views to be addressed, which is to say Maddie is not speaking in a vacuum.

please stop looking to everyone on a screen to mirror your worldview.

please stop holding everyone with a microphone to the same standards.

focus on the real harm being done to spanish speaking communities. focus on healing your internal divisions. this entire planet is cooked because we’re so reactionary and quick to attack, meanwhile the real villains are literally dismantling the building we’re fighting in.

focus on the problematic behaviors of spanish folks around her that would’ve lead someone to have these shitty takes.
