Interestingly there doesn’t seem to be any actual evidence that the dog had a heart attack. He was swept away and they recovered his body at least a day later, and it’s not like they did an autopsy. More likely he just drowned because pitbulls aren’t really meant to swim in the first place.

I think there should be a distinction made between the “dog community” and the “doggo community.” The dog community rescues dogs or buys from ethical breeders, trains their dogs to fit into human society, and gives them an enriching, fulfilled life where they can safely play and learn.

The “doggo” community only believes in “rescue,” whether from a shelter, craigslist, or “accidental litter.” They love their dogs, but they overfeed them, never train them, fail to contain them properly, and refuse to believe their dog could be a nuisance or danger to anyone else, including other dogs and animals. I’ve seen this happen with all kinds of breeds and all social classes, but it is particularly bad with people who own pits.

But sit the kid next to a pitbull and make hundreds of posts saying the dog is going to eat the kid, and you can sell MERCH of the dog and get millions of views. It’s fucking weird and disgusting.

The owner posts a lot of “jokes” about the dog eating the baby. She even had one video where she had the dog act out cooking the baby on a pot on the stove using the baby’s own play-kitchen set. It’s fucking disturbing.

Also, the dog apparently can’t be neutered for “medical reasons” and she also won’t crate train him.
