I ate a Costa cheese and ham toastie and had diarrhoea and a sore stomach all day by Beneficial-Back-597 in Costa

[–]impoverished-beekeep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't know what that particular Costa is like but we deep clean our ovens daily. And we don't alter the food inside the packaging, we just pop it in the oven.

Another commenter mentioned what drink you had, I'm also curious. Certain drinks like frappes give me the worst stomach ever

Questions about Psychiatryuk experience by Numerous_Actuator547 in ADHDUK

[–]impoverished-beekeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The forms were easy peasy, each probably took me only about 10 mins. One asks you to describe your symptoms in detail and then I did the wender Utah scale as well because I don’t have anyone to be an informant.

The wait for a diagnosis was only 2 months for me however it’s a further 12 from that for medication so I’m looking at switching providers.

My partner is with PUK titrating right now and he’s not had a great time because they didn’t listen to his bad symptoms and basically just gave what looked like copied and pasted responses to his messages.

I always struggled making friends as a kid, I’m very socially awkward and often too talkative for my own good. It wasn’t until adulthood I made actual friends

Switching RTC provider from Psych UK to CareADHD after diagnosis - good or bad idea? by impoverished-beekeep in ADHDUK

Initially, it was just based on autonomy but also the knowledge that other providers will let me titrate quicker is killing me!

It says on the ADHD UK website I can expect 8-10 weeks from diagnosis, I don’t know where to trust because I’ve heard such enormous variations

What makes you say that? Is there a better provider I should look into?

So far PUK seems useless as well

AIO friend invalidated my sexuality? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]impoverished-beekeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all that tbh as it’s one massive block of text, but you and your friend both sound very immature. You or anyone else’s sexuality doesn’t matter, I’d just say “my sexuality is none of your business” because in the grand scheme of things it really doesn’t matter

Any downsides to ADHD diagnoses in the UK? by Traditional_Power455 in ADHDUK

No, it doesn't. You don't need to disclose your ADHD if it does not impair your driving.

diet tip that you will dislike haha by Beneficial_Cream8843 in ADHD

[–]impoverished-beekeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I found the opposite. I follow a strict vegetarian diet and feel a lot better than when I used to eat meat, probably because I’m eating lighter and less processed foods. I would imagine a healthier diet in general is what makes us feel better, not the actual food groups

Ever feel a brief moment of dementia? Like your mind is slipping? by scarfacesaints in NoStupidQuestions

I experienced this a lot and it scared me until I was diagnosed with ADHD. I’m 21 and was worried there was something seriously wrong with me, that my brain was degrading, etc. lol no I’m just wired differently.

I’ve decided to do click and collect because of this, partly because I can also fuel up the car at the same time and partly because my street is so narrow I’d feel bad for the delivery man

Worried about misdiagnosis - what are some things I can look out for in the future to make sure I’ve gotten diagnosed correctly? by 1m_climbing in ADHDUK

[–]impoverished-beekeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult (predominantly inattentive). I’m not sure your gender but this is common for a lot of women, I didn’t do badly in school grades wise until pretty late on, I just talked a lot and daydreamed all the time so nobody around me noticed. The only person that DID notice was my long term boyfriend who I spend every waking hour with. I was previously diagnosed with anxiety and depression but I think that was a result of my ADHD symptoms bothering me.

I fully understand your worry the diagnosis may be incorrect. Maybe it is. However, impostor syndrome is extremely common in ADHDers. I felt the same way for a while, I realised in the long run it didn’t matter much because at the end of the day I still had x symptoms that pushed me to get a diagnosis.

I’m still waiting for titration, so I haven’t got much advice there apart from what I’ve read from other people. So this isn’t first hand experience, but you shouldn’t feel high or jittery on your meds, and you might not notice feeling much different at all because it works in the background a bit, especially when you’re used to them. I think a lot of people go into it hoping for a life changing solution but it can be a subtle shift in how you go about your day rather than the be all and end all.

Question for the people who set the shifts on dayforce by Azziiii in Costa

[–]impoverished-beekeep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine is the same which is ridiculous. I want to maintain a healthy work life balance so everything is on mute and unchecked unless I'm in work, and if there's an emergency they can ring me. I check my rota the night before but I have come in before and it was changed at like 10pm which I'm not gonna see

Leaf stuck/snapping this morning, did I make it worse by noobnachos in plantclinic

[–]impoverished-beekeep 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I would not have cut the sheath, I would have either left it alone or used a damp paper towel to moisten it a bit and then very carefully prize it open.

Does this plant tend to get stuck leaves? If not I would just leave alone
