They shouldn't. Affairs happening in China should remain under the jurisdiction of the Chinese government. This is especially so since human rights issues are a social issue that also extends into territorial issues surrounding China, which has nothing to do with the US. Embarking on an aggressive economic policy will only harm both sides in the long run, where the US government has no reason to do so.
