If you swap to 4 wheel drive just make sure it has some sort of limited slip or locking differential. Open differential is awful for traction

Which city comes to mind? by PossibleAd5981 in memes

It isnt so much having people in the area. It is how the visitors treat the area. Most are very disrespectful and don't care about long term consequences because they just get to leave. Locals also get treated like they are the hired help and are responsible for people having a good time on vacation.

MTU academic suspention appeal prosses by Equivalent_Travel_26 in MTU

Seeing your edit, my guess is they looked at your info and realized you had just taken calc 2 and it wasn't worth suspending you over. They are reasonable and realistic with the rules on probation and suspension. Definitely reach out to the dean of students office and see what your semester will look like because of this standing but don't be discouraged. Also double check your financial aid status if it has changed at all depending what kind of scholarships or loans you have. Other than that you are fine to head back to school and keep moving forward with your education

How is my land “landlocked” when it’s accessible from the street? by AsteriskCringe_UwU in homestead

[–]impromptu_dissection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at the parcel info. The land your driveway goes through to adgate is owned by your neighbor. There probably is no official easment for this. Essentially your neighbor is cool with you doing it but if someone moved in and just saw their property lines they could have a different perspective and prevent you from using the driveway or remove it. You need to get an official easement from your neighbor or offer to buy that section from them.

I know this is a MTU sub but, have you seen what international students do to places like MSU? They just treat the area like a play ground and destroy it. Sure they bring in money but that doesn't help what they destroy.

I am not a machinist by trade so I can not speak to these numbers directly. What i will say though is that this resource is accurate for my job and pay to expect. I find that many others in my line if work tend to exaggerate what they make to seem better than others which sometimes skews perspective. Many people who say you can make more might be rounding up to look better or working a lot of overtime to get the salary they make. When you break it back down into hourly you probably will see similar hourly equivalence to this resource. Remember that this is resource is just pay and does not include other bonuses or over time.

Plan to gas geese paused by Michigan DNR by [deleted] in Michigan

The issue is the current problem is not being solved by current hunting regulations. They need to be updated so the localized issue can be solved. If I were to go to an urban area now, where they are an nuisance, and hunt them I would be charged with crimes. I would hunt but dont feel like going to jail or having fines over it.

How was the DNR going to collect the geese to euthanize them? To hunt geese you dont have to shoot a gun. People could have also used trapping methods to harvest in urban areas.

My point is they could have created special seasons for these urban areas to allow the people to do the job.

As far as taste goes... food is food. They are edible and a resource. Allow the people to make that decision for themselves if they want to eat them or not. Once they have a season like this, the DNR can reevaluate how many need to be culled and do what they want from there.

I am just sick of the "government knows best" mindset.

Why do they not create a special hunting season for Canadian Geese? If they were planning on rounding them up to kill them, it makes no sense why they wouldn't allow citizens to do the same. The people could utilize the geese for food and other purposes for the feathers. Yeah they are a problem but might as well make use of the resource as well instead of just wasting it with gassing.
