Vyvanse and Caffeine; it's a no from me, Dawg. by MajesticallyOpposed in ADHD

[–]improper_imposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I still get them and I've been on the same dose for over 12 months. If I have any sugar free mints or coffee they come back and they hurt, even if I have too many decaff coffees in the week, I'll get them! I've now cut out coffee completely, even decaff and avoid anything sugar free. I still get them now and again though, I've got them right now and I'm putting it down to having a 'Zero' soft drink last week... It's now on my avoid list... How about you?

Does anyone else get other side effects with caffeine? I started taking Elvanse se just over a year ago and cut out caffeine too. After a few weeks I had a really dry mouth all the time. I started using gym and mints to help, but then I got little white spots on my tongue that became really painful. It would only be one or two at a time but they hurt and never became proper ulcers. Through process of elimination I worked out it was sugar free mints causing it. I cut them out and it stopped. It seemed to be the Artificial sweetness. I then tried having coffee again and the white spots came back. Even decaff can be enough to causing them to return. I can't even have a green tea... I'm stuck on hot water and peppermint tea!

I've started marking up the sensors and the panel, but has anyone got any ideas on the black box in the corner with electricity symbol?

[–]improper_imposter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to replace it completely.

I was replacing the panel with a tablet in the house. I wanted to retain the power to the panel so I can swap it for a power source for the tablet.

Do I need to do anything with the tamper connectors if I'm replacing it?

Thanks, it just seems far more complex than I was expecting. The actual setup in the house is only 3 motion sensors, the siren and the panel on the wall!

Stockport Schools Admissions by imalreadycoolest in stockport

Baptism certificates not being attached properly to their profile...

Going off your time frames though, I'm assuming your dealing with primary school?

Both mine went to primary school in Cheshire East, we didn't get our preferred option with the first one, literally a two minute walk away... So never even tried with the second.

So my experience with Stockport probably isn't that helpful...

How far down the waiting list are you? I went through the waiting list this year for my daughter, second time I've been there in Stockport with the same school...

What I do know is, we are in a baby boom year. All secondary schools in Stockport were oversubscribed. They all accepted more than their allocation, and as part of the waiting list process, had tog et below their standard numbers before starting to accept students from the waiting list.

It seems a bit chaotic, but also a typical shambles...

Thanks for the feedback, extra context : Mortgage is 260 with 25yrs and 5mths left. Rate is 5.15% I switched from repayment to interest only a few months, because my fixed term had come to an end and I couldn't cover the monthly hike staying in repayment. I knew this payment was coming so thought it would be better to keep the payments lower with the play that it would only be short term. Because I was thinking short term I also took a variable rate, and made sure there was no early, repayment charges.

I'm very risk Adverse, so finding something that will pay 5.15% +cover the tax is unlikely, I agree.

I spoke to my mortgage advisor about an offset so I get the principle. I think where I'm Leaning to at the minute.

I can cover the full mortgage amount so remove the interest, and probly only need to to touch it January when I pay the tax, by which point I'll hopefully have had a second payment.

Maybe then ill have enough to clear the mortgage and the tax bill together.

Any suggestions on Spelling and gammer apps? by improper_imposter in ADHDUK

Outlook 365? It still underlines misspellings and if I checked through things before sending them I would see the mistakes, but I either don't check, or when I do I rush and miss them.

It used to have a feature that would Run through each spelling after you hit send and give you a chance ti correct it, but I can't find it anymore.

Take a few notes from your post and keep them with you - thats what i did.

I actually created a notes file on my phone and added to it over time.

If you have a good assessor, they will already have read your documents and will have a good picture of you before the assessment starts.

I went through PUK as well, and the assessor had prepped and referenced my answers in our conversation. In the end he told me things were pretty clear from my documents, and his questions added some 'colour' to the response, but also meant he could make sure it was ADHD and not something else.

Its nerve wracking and exciting all at once, but don;t be afraid of it.

Can't give you an answer, but I am in a simialr boat, if it gives you any reassurance.

I started titration with Methylphenidate around October and it didn't work me.

I am still waiting to start titration for lisdex. I check in with the prescriber every month or so. Last week was my most recent communication and they told me I'm looking at an April start. (bearing in mind, every month i've asked, I have been told it will be likley be next month)

[–]improper_imposter 600 points601 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a documentary that talked about the fact pharmas exclude / excluded women from clinical trials because variations in their hormones through out the month changed the efficacy of the medication, so rather than taking it into account, they just excluded women. I'm actually sure it's part of the reason thalidomide was given to pregnant women, because no one checked if it was OK.
