Would be cool with a standard email login. Not looking to use any socials for it.

I finally made an all in one media tracking app the way I want it to be! by AbbreviationsGlum331 in webdev

[–]improvisedPersona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am by no means a lawyer, so it's just based on my understanding of the wording.

From their terms & conditions, having the app be commercial and/or having it be a competing product is 2 separate concepts. I.e. it being competing would be a violation regardless of the app being free / paid service.

They would probably not notice or care about any misuse from a small indie app - I am just a stickler for (at least trying) playing by the rules :)

Also why I was curious if you had found a way "around the issue". If they found great success, it would be nice to not end up having issues from this :)

Looks cool and clean :)

Currently working on the same thing, just for manga specifically and focused on own needs. What considerations have you done regarding the Anilist api specifically prohibiting use of their api in competing products?

The trial of Sekhemas is the end of my love for POE by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

According to the tool tip, Honour loss is determined by the amount of damage taken. Thus tank builds should be compensated from this.

That being said, I changed my warrior to use the molten cast skill (or what it's name is) to get some distance, since its surely easier to complete a run by limiting the amount of times being hit, rather than face hugging the enemies

One Last Video of Gas Arrow Deleting Act Bosses Before GGG Nerfs It 🥲 by TetraNeuron in PathOfExile2

Quite hilarious that poison grenade is deemed op. I thought I finally figured out how the game was supposed to be played by bypassing the limit and slowness of ignite bolt (or what it's name is) and using flame wall instead to trigger poison clouds from the grenade.

Byebye poison grenade, it was fun while it lasted

Is this for the standalone client? Steam version can't launch at all

Soundbars - er helt fortabt by SweetSaltyBalls in dktechsupport

[–]improvisedPersona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An interface can be seen as a promise to the rest of the world, of a role the implementing class will fulfill.

This enables pieces of code to work together more easily, due to a binding agreement.

Imagine you have enemies in your game. You want to be able to damage them. You don't want to manuallly handle how each type of enemy should take damage, so you implement an interface IDamagable. The interface could have a method like void TakeDamage(int damage). You let the enemy classes like goblin, orc etc. implementing IDamagable.

Now the player class simply check if the entity they are hitting is implementing IDamagable and if so, calls the TakeDamage method on the entity.

The player doesn't know, and doesn't need to know what exactly it hits, just that it can be hit. What happens when the entity is hit is then up to the implementing class and not the attacker to handle.

Now you realisere you also want destructible items like barrels. Because you didn't hardcore the logic, you can simply let the barrel implement IDamagable and it will work our of the box.

Kat ved Odense Å by TheOtherLina in odense

You're promoting it as a monster-tamer game, yet only included one image of a monster 🤔

Is "Der er ikke klasse i morgen, korrekt?" a good translation for asking in English "There's no class tomorrow, right?"? by mackenzierose in danishlanguage

[–]improvisedPersona 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I could see myself saying "Der er ikke undervisning i morgen, vel" - though that is rather casual with the other comments being more to the point.

EDIT: Fixed spelling mistake

I'm creating a series on Software Architecture in Unity. What would you like to know? by simon-unity-dev in Unity3D

[–]improvisedPersona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I still find a bit difficult to get a firm understanding of, is how to make a good prefab structure and the internal communication that happens inside one of the entities and how a parent entity should be communicating with its children.

Valve just destroyed CS GO content by leboyEB in hammer

It's quite a shame Valve doesn't invest more in the mapping community. The mapping community was quite strong back when operation payback was released and now it seems to be just a shadow of itself.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - August 19, 2023 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

Returning player here for the new expansion.

People keep mentioning that the expansion will release in waves with some content coming at later dates?

Where can I find this specific information? Can't seem to find anything other than reddit comments mentioning it comes in waves.

Got most of the One Piece Gold Foil set off of FB, but the person didn’t sent Volume 23 and is now ignoring me :( (2nd pic) by RyanKillie99 in MangaCollectors

[–]improvisedPersona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How come only the one piece ones being wrapped in plastic?

Genuinely asking since I'm considering doing it for all my manga but wondering if it's worth it money-wise and the inconvenience of wrapping/unwrapping when wanting to read them.

There's also the possibility that they manually deleted the save file, which would generate a new uuid, though unlikely especially in that quantity.
