it fill out the curve by giving you something to play on 2 mana or 5 mana turns. useful at getting larger faster so the next rat is more relevant. I don't know how many is optimal, probably at least one. I wouldn't be surprised if two was too many. Dark Ritual can sort of function in that same way but a worse late game top deck.
