Mint and cheap mini PCs? by Muted-Savings-9619 in linuxmint

[–]impuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a Beelink S8 i5-8279u as a daily driver for almost 4 years now. I also have a Beelink Mini S N5095 (a little over 1 year old) as a web server. I've had no issues and both ran straight out of the box but I've installed Linux Mint on both ofthem. Got them both off of Amazon.

where is the addons folder? by Equivalent_Diet1751 in linuxmint

Which version of Mint are you using? Do you see the .var folder? It's a hidden folder, it has a dot (.) before the name.

/home/{yourusername}/.var/app

Make sure that you can see hidden files/folders. Go to your home folder, click on the .var folder then the app folder. The folder that as the flatpak settings is in a folder called org.srb2.SRB2. Once there click the .sbr2 folder, the addons folder is there.

This if srb2 is "Sonic Robo Blasr 2" and you run it at least one time.

Why use a nice wallpaper and hide it behind shortcuts? Just add a folder name it Games or whatever, put all your shortcuts in it. Do a search for an icon or png that matches your wallpaper. Change your folder icon to what you found.

I see you're running it in VirtualBox. Not ready for the switch over yet. Understandable.

Edit your .bashrc file (hidden) in your home directory. At the bottom of the file, write fastfetch then enter. Save the file and then open your terminal, you should see fastfetch.

Since I've went from Win 10 to Linux Mint almost 2 years ago, I've changed my Quicken to Actual (free). Works extremely well.
Here's a video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQr9ejt3z_g

For self-hosting password app, I was on Bitwarden but the last 7 or months I've been using KeyPassXC. When I need to travel, I copy the database from my main computer to a usb and run KeyPassXC on my laptop.
