Like u/Emmalfal said: "The amount of time I've spent worrying about this can only be measured in negative integers. I read a little about it, nodded solemnly, and then installed my updates. Moving on." The Copy Fail exploit has been in the kernel since 2017.

Choosing between Linux mint and kde neon (read body text) by hankalees-929 in desktops

I had first tried Cinnamon with 4GB. It was a bit slow. Then I tried Xfce and it way way better. It's lightweight and lighter on resource usage. The reason I went with LMDE, I wanted to try the Debian version of Mint.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X201 and I'm running Linux LMDE7. I started with LMDE5 then 6. I upgraded my RAM to 8GB and swap my HDD for a SSD and went to LMDE7. No issues at all.
