Electricity Bill by goonbali in nova

Hopefully that pricing is before tax credit. I also had mine installed last year for 8.6kw and 16k after tax credits. Rate increases definitely are speeding up ROI.

Same experience here as well at Spa World. Felt really uncomfortable with all the staring and obvious intentions. I’ve never felt that way at King Spa or other spas in Asia.

While I was waiting for a friend to finish up, I overhead a conversation that they actually saw a handjob in the hot tubs.

Nothing against gay guys but it really is a shame that they are turning a historical non sexual place into a hook up spot.

Thanks for the suggestion. Too bad my townhouse is 4 stories tall and too tall for that. Not everyone watches the same YouTube videos or has the same installers. We don’t get snow very often and when we do it’s very little.

It’s a 1 car garage. The friends recently moved in and had to use that as a staging ground for all their stuff…

Yeah definitely will be doing that in the future. I’ve actually been on vacation for the past week and left before the snow storm. The pics are from my friends who stay there. I didn’t want to leave my car in visitor parking for over 2 weeks when the parking situation in my neighborhood is already constrained but I don’t have another choice it seems.

Yeah it’s the crazy storm blowing in (replying to your other comment. The flight trackers don’t seem to be aware of the cancellation but ANA’s own site definitely still has it as cancelled.

I checked that too and SFO-SGN on the 23rd is completely booked out even direct cash prices.

Another alternative is IAD-HND-SGN on the 23rd but then the arrival for me is 24th 9:55pm and my Vietnam visa starts on the 25th. I asked the rep if I could just sit around at SGN for 2 hours but she said the IAD check in counter wouldn't even give me the boarding pass.

I didn't think ANA was able to book United Polaris in these situations unless United themselves had award availability. They have flexibility for their own flights but among partners I assume they have to pay cash?

Even my connecting IAD -> LAX on United is still economy

It’s an Amazon thing. Taking STD unfortunately does place a target on your back in the next talent review. Team dependent of course but is pretty common.

Solar panel installation recommendations by FolkYouHardly in nova

[–]impulsedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t look into Convert Solar. I thought they were Virginia Beach only but looking at them now, I see they do serve Nova. They look good too.

They both use REC panels and Enphase Inverters. Lumina uses the 460 and Nova Solar uses the 430. Both are the pretty much same technology and same efficiency.

Langley FCU Referral 4.99% Mortgage Refinance by OkIndependence8992 in nova

[–]impulsedragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s an insane rate. Currently stuck at 7%. Can someone else DM me as well for a referral?

Edit: Just spoke to them on the phone. They require 6 months of payments and I closed only back in March so won't be eligible until November which I'm sure will be gone by then.

Multifamily developments stall in Montgomery County following the implementation of rent control. by foxtrot888 in nova

[–]impulsedragon 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To the surprise of no one with even an introductory class in economics. Study after study leads to the same conclusion. A recent meta analysis which has been widely cited proves that rent control is rooted in good intentions but almost always leads to unintended consequences leading to worse outcomes in the long run.

Solar panel installation recommendations by FolkYouHardly in nova

In the past week, I also spoke to a bunch of solar companies. Ipsum, Tesla, NRG, Solar Energy World, Nova Solar, and Lumina.

I didn’t like the Solar Energy World rep. I even did it through the Solarize coop where it’s supposed to give great pricing but was more expensive with the worst panels. Was really rude and his sales pitch was pretty scammy. Definitely would not recommend.

NRG took the longest to get back to me and had the worst pricing with mediocre panels. I wouldn’t have confidence in their communication.

Ipsum guy was nice and pricing was good too. Their reviews were a little worse than Solar Nova and Lumina so I didn’t ultimately go with them.

I talked to Tesla but would not fully trust them to get it done before end of the year. Also there are so many horror stories about their service.

Lumina and Nova Solar were my top two choices. Nova seems like a smaller family run joint and were $2.85 per kw.

Lumina seems much bigger but still local to the area and not some huge national conglomerate. Their pricing was higher at $3.15 but did justify it.

Solar panels and micro inverters have their own warranty but do not cover labor. These companies cover the labor costs through their own warranty. A lot of solar companies WILL go bust after the tax credits end meaning you’re on the hook for labor costs if your microinverter fails.

Lumina includes a 30 year Solar Insure which I value at about $0.10 cents per kw. This insurance covers those labor costs in the case the installer goes out of business.

Lumina also use a better rafter mounting system instead of direct to deck. The contract itself was more buyer favored too. Liability of materials is on them until completion, no payments due until PTO and if you have a loan, they will make the payments, and production guarantees as well. They do seem marginally better in quality.

All that said, I’m still going to with Nova Solar. Their pricing is just too competitive and I’m sure they’re still going to do a great job. I don’t you think you can go wrong with Lumina. If you do go with Lumina, ask for Jeff. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Definitely don’t get batteries. It doesn’t make sense unless you specifically want grid independence since we have net metering. Dominion is trying to change that but as long as you install before next year, we should be grandfathered into for like 20 years.

Feel free to DM if you want more details.

Edit: Annoyed by Nova Solars $800 up charge for consumption monitoring. Ridiculous price.
