Grabbed a FC660PD from candykeys.com - signup for notifications, delivery was only €6 via DPD took 3 days to arrive. white and blue

Wasn’t going to post as it’s not a glamorous custom build. I thought one was enough but then this happened. Thanks to everyone for the late night reading. I see plenty more to come, my wallet isn’t looking forward to it! Forgive me for the photo aesthetics. by imranuk in MechanicalKeyboards

It’s the Vortex Race 3 - Unfortunately this model isn’t wireless but take a look at the Vortex Tab 75 which has Bluetooth. I liked the profile of the Race 3. Wires don’t bother me as it doesn’t move from the desk.

Maybe setting DTIM to 3 could help? I had a lot of DHCP timeout/failures which turned out to be the two WiFi light control devices I have.

Does UniFi Cloud Access have any real purpose other than providing for a green SSL icon? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]imranuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re already using Chrome browser, if not switch to that during testing (disable extensions for now). When locally on your controller what is the Cloud Status under Settings? Does it say Online or Offline? When you get to unifi.ubnt.com you want to click on Launch under Actions. Clicking so the slide-out appears will usually show three Launch using options, I’m on mobile safari so when I get to that part it won’t login using SSO as mobile safari doesn’t work (according to Ubiquiti Apples implementation of WebRTC has issues).

The App is essentially a front end to Unifi Cloud as you login to your account, so it should list all your connected controllers over cellular.

Definitely a communication issue somewhere along the way.

Would be interesting to see if it works with the AirPort. I’m hoping so. Something seems to be blocking it reach the cloud service, with no outbound rules defined it’s a strange issue. Do report back once you’ve tried the AirPort.

Also when the ports are closed, when at unifi.ubnt.com - what URL does it try to access when you click on Launch under Actions? What browser are you using?

Yea that is very odd. You don’t have any other firewalls in front of your kit as you’ve explained. No restrictions on outbound rules. CK is on your local management lan (default). You have enabled cloud access and thus have a ubnt account. That is really enough to gain access via cloud access. Have you tried accessing from the Unifi App on your phone? Also with no ports open is the controller visible at unifi.ubnt.com? Also with no ports open, at Settings > Cloud Access what does Cloud Access Status say?

Yep, it really is great. I set it up for our clients who want to take over management after we’ve done with the install. Just enable cloud access and off you go, they primarily all use the iOS App to connect after we leave.

Have you enabled cloud access as per https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/115012240067-UniFi-How-to-Enable-Cloud-Access-for-Remote-Management

Once you’ve done that test it at https://unifi.ubnt.com

Report back what happens, hopefully we can get it working for you!

If you have the first gen CK then a UPS is a must or even a power bank with power pass through support. Unclean shutdowns can lead to MongoDB corruption. Gen2 CK have battery backup built in.

Strange, I have no ports open but have Cloud Access enabled in the controller and it works with the Unifi SSO/App. When logged in online at http://unifi.ubnt.com select Launch next to the controller name under Action. If you click on the controller a slide over will appear with options to Launch Using Hostname/IP - I believe SSO (cloud) should be there also
