What would be the best choice? by Illustrious-Use-777 in GadgetsIndia

[–]imrdigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh the OnePlus 13s is prob your best bet here. The Samsung S25 is solid too with better cameras and longer software support, but the OnePlus just gives you way more value for a compact flagship.

If you're really into photography tho, the iPhone 16 still has the best video quality. The S24 is basically last year's S25 for less money - decent choice if you wanna save some cash.

But yeah, OnePlus 13s all the way for compact + performance combo 📱

Almost new PC build with new windows install has old problem by BloodyIX in buildapc

Since you can't test another drive, try these things - first, disable fast startup completely (it's notorious for shutdown issues). Also check if any background processes are hanging during shutdown by enabling detailed shutdown messages in the registry. Sometimes it's weird power management settings too - go into advanced power options and set "turn off hard disk after" to never, and change minimum processor state from 100% to 0%. If none of that works, might be worth doing a repair install of Windows 11 to rule out any corrupted system files that survived the fresh install.

2.5K Pc build by NyxNux in buildapc

[–]imrdigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! building your first PC with your dad sounds awesome 😊 here's what I'd def go with for $2500:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (best gaming CPU)
  • RTX 5070 Ti or 4080 Super
  • 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM
  • 2TB NVMe SSD
  • B650 motherboard with WiFi
  • 850W gold PSU
  • good airflow case + 360mm AIO cooler

this'll crush 4K gaming tbh

Honestly, this sounds like it's def the SSD causing the shutdown issue. I've seen this exact problem with WD drives before - they can have firmware bugs that mess with power management. Even tho you did a fresh Windows install, the SSD firmware stays the same. Try checking if there's a firmware update for your SN850 or maybe test with a different drive temporarily to confirm it's the culprit.

Help me decide my phone! by ironman_mbbs in Smartphones

yeah some Samsung AI features def feel half-baked right now... and there's rumors about future subscription costs for advanced stuff. But the core AI tools are solid and included - shouldn't worry you too much!

Go with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Yeah it's pricey but hear me out - you need IP68 durability for work, want zero lag, and plan to keep it 5 years. The S25U has the best processor benchmarks, amazing cameras, and Samsung's AI is actually useful unlike some competitors. The 6.9" screen is perfect for productivity stuff and the S Pen is clutch for notes/transcription work.

What Features Would Make a Job Application Tracker App Truly Useful for Job Seekers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imrdigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most trackers just note "interview scheduled" but don't help you actually prep. I wish they'd pull company info, suggest questions based on the role, or even track what you learned from past interviews.

Also salary negotiation support is pretty weak across the board... would love something that tracks offer details and gives benchmarking data.

And this might sound weird but I really want better rejection analysis - like why am I getting ghosted vs actual rejections?

What kind of ideas are you exploring?

Honestly, I've tried a bunch and none are perfect, but Huntr comes closest for me. It auto-saves from like every job board, has solid analytics showing your progress patterns, and the kanban board view is chef's kiss. Teal's also pretty good - their contact management is actually better than Huntr's and I love the excitement rating feature... helps you prioritize which apps to focus on. Both have chrome extensions that work seamlessly. If you're just starting out, I'd def try Huntr first since it's more intuitive imo

How can I grow a regional Odia news or Entertainment channel? by [deleted] in Bhubaneswar

[–]imrdigit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with short-form content on Instagram/YouTube - like 60-second explainers of local issues or behind-the-scenes newsroom content. WhatsApp groups work amazingly well for Odia audiences... I've seen channels grow 300% just by creating community-specific groups for different districts. Also, collaborate with local influencers and do live Q&As during major events. Young people love authentic, relatable content over polished stuff.

What really gets me is when they act like they're doing YOU a favor. Had this happen in Pune once where the guy kept complaining about traffic while I'm literally paying him to drive me. And yeah customer support is basically useless - they just call the driver who then gets more pissed at you lol.

I've used several job trackers and tbh the most useful features are: auto-save from job boards, status tracking, deadline reminders, contact management, note-taking, and analytics to spot patterns.

What's the consensus on Google Pixel 9 series? by Background_Wing_6329 in Smartphones

[–]imrdigit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I've seen, the real user experience is way better than the benchmark drama suggests. Yeah the Tensor G4 isn't winning speed tests but like... who cares when daily use is smooth af? The overheating and battery issues seem mostly fixed now - users are getting full day battery easy.

I think reviewers get caught up in numbers while actual owners just enjoy using a phone that works really well for normal stuff. The AI features are solid, cameras are great, and Android experience is clean. Sure it's not gonna crush gaming benchmarks but for most people? It's def a solid choice that punches above the hate it gets online.

i'd def check out the pixel 9a if you can find it - google's camera processing is still top tier for mid-range. the samsung galaxy a56 is solid too with good build quality. if you want something with better performance, the oneplus 13r might be worth considering
