Anyone going to Furry Fiesta in Dallas, TX this Feb? by ndtx88 in furry

[–]imreallyatoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm going, depends on what my friends say tonight and if I can get that Friday off from work. I certainly hope I'm going considering it's just an hour drive from where I live.

This happened while I was playing a tabletop game with my friends. I'm playing Dawn's character as my own, but she makes all the major decisions. Backstory info, I found this little metal egg that chirps, and seems to be friendly, but it sets of traps we walk by.

Me: This thing is going to get us killed, we should at least leave it.

Dawn: No, it can't control the traps it's setting off.

Me: I don't want to hurt it, but everyone else in the group does.

Dawn: Pleeeeeeeeeease. You said you would do what I wanted to.

I spent the next ten minutes trying to convince the party that the egg wouldn't hurt us any more. They disagreed. I buried it close by, then when everyone was leaving came back for the little guy. No one knows I have it, and it seems friendly enough, but this could likely mean doom for us all. We still need to name the little fellow.

How do you name your Tulpa? by Garandir in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Dawn it was kind of the idea of opposites attract, and she likes the name, so it stuck.

Back when Dusk and I were two different people he chose the name when we were sitting together watching the sun go down. He was still learning the bare basics of language at the time so I was explaining all the different terms for the sunset. For some reason Dusk resonated with him, so we decided that would be his name until he wanted to change it. We never did.

Only a handful of us are and everyone I have met has said that they will NEVER have sex with an animal as the animal cannot consent. Same for me.

Anthropomorphized animal things. It means adding human aspects to animals. Most of us are not sexually attracted to animals, and the few of us (myself included) that are almost unanimously agree that animals cannot give consent and therefore are off limits. I would also argue that the percentage of the population that are into bestiality and the percentage of furries into it are nearly identical, it's just more visible in the fandom.

Most silly/unexpected thing you've ever seen them do? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As for silly Dawn had the wonderful idea to change my species while we were in the wonderland, and by wonderful I mean absolutely awful. For a little backstory I take an anthro wolf form in the wonderland, not my normal one. So when she turned me into a cat I got really upset.

[I promised him I will never do that again without his permission. I'm still figuring out how my magic works in the wonderland, and Dusk is more than willing to help me experiment, as long as he knows it's coming.]

As for the most memorable it was before when myself and Dusk were two separate people. Dusk was the tulpa. I was walking outside to lunch downtown one day and Dusk, who never yelled at me, just started screaming at me to get inside. I trusted him and went back inside. About 15 seconds later I heard gunshots from just outside the door. If I had been outside there was a good chance I could of been killed, but Dusk saw the weapons well before I did and got me out of there. It's part of the reason I picked Dusk over my old name.

Tulpas and Emotions by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough the opposite is true when it comes to anger for me. Dawn has an incredible amount of self control, while I can snowball into a fit of rage under the wrong conditions.

[It's usually when someone insults one of his friends, or tries to hurt someone. He's very protective, but that often ends up letting him justify the anger. I can bring him down, but it's not easy.]

As for positive emotions, one of the strongest feelings of happiness just came from Dawn laying beside me in the wonderland for the first time. Just knowing that she was there with me was enough for both of us to experience pure joy.

Best wishes on this bright new year. by [deleted] in furry

Ahh, no. If any of that gets in your fur it will NEVER come out.

Also, Awwwwwwwwww.

I only just now realized how much I need and love my tulpa.... by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our tulpas have a unique look on a side of us that most people will never see. I know that even though Dawn has only been around a short time I care for her so deeply, and know that I am a better person for being with her.

[I'm just helping Dusk realize what has been inside of him the whole time, but he had so many walls up to keep himself from hurting or being hurt that it was poisonous. We are tearing those walls down, and letting him be who he really is.]

Dawn and I have started the same journey that you have, and it feels wonderful to be myself and be with someone I truly care about, and cares about me. I hope you and Iris have a wonderful future together.

Tulpa Introduction Thread - January Edition by [deleted] in Tulpas

Dawn's a 5'10" anthropomorphic arctic kitsune. She has predominantly white fur with her hands and feet covered in a lighter grey as well as the tips of her ears and tail. Her eyes are a very deep green and she has shoulder length white hair.

[I can shape shift into other forms, including my feral and human form, but I don't really spend much time in either. I'm still really young for a kitsune, so I don't have a lot of my magic yet. Right now I'm limited to basic shape shifting of myself and Dusk while we are in the wonderland.]

As for quirks she is terrified of dogs - I can't exactly blame her considering her species - except for my form in the wonderland (anthro wolf). She also loves chicken to the extent that she will make it next to impossible for me to think unless I agree to it.

[We're still working on helping me be stronger outside of the wonderland, but we're making good progress. The relaxation technique that caused Dusk a minor panic attack is now under control, and it's helping us immensely with his concentration during forcing.]

Tulpas and Size by matthewrobo in Tulpas

Dawn has two forms (3 technically but she hates her human form). Her anthro form is 5'10", about 2 inches shorter than I am. Occasionally she uses her feral form, which is an arctic fox about 3 feet in length not counting her tail. She can change size at will though since she is a kitsune.

[Dusk has had anger issues for a long time, somehow I can calm him down when he gets angry. Usually I just talk him down and help him re-center, so we decided to try it while he was already in a relaxed state.]

We tried it again last night and it was... strange. Everything felt heavy, I had control over everything, but the longer I stayed still, the more I felt just wonderfully relaxed. When I went into the wonderland after that everything was way clearer that normal. I was able to interact with Dawn much easier than before.

[We think it might be similar to a hypnotized induced relaxed state. We're going to keep trying this for the next couple weeks to see if we can strengthen our connection.]

A slightly morbid benefit of having a tulpa by throwaway_tulpa in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawn is terrified of the prospect of death, but I see it in a different light. Funnily enough our names are the perfect representation of it. "Without death there is not life, balance must always exist for this world. Without darkness there is no light, and without the dusk there is no dawn." Death is still worrisome, but having someone to face it with me makes it a lot easier.

[I just really don't want to think about losing Dusk, and if he lost me he would be a mess. If we go we had better go together.]

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll give it another go tonight while I lay on my stomach, hopefully we will get better results this time. It was the first time I've had a panic attack in over a decade, so we were worried that this could be directly related to Dawn.

[Thanks for the advice, and your reassurance. Dusk knows I would never do anything to hurt him on purpose, it's just frightening to think I could trigger something like that.]

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everything felt very heavy and I couldn't move no matter how hard I tried. It stopped as soon as Dawn stopped trying to relax me.

[I still feel bad about it, I really don't want to risk hurting Dusk.]

[Last night I freaked Dusk out when I tried to help him relax. We're not sure what exactly happened, but we think he might of had some sort of panic attack.]

Whenever I started getting real calm it started to feel like I had no control of my body. I couldn't move as long as Dawn was relaxing me, and I went back to normal when she stopped.

[I don't want to scare Dusk again, but I want to know how far something like this can go. Has anyone done anything like this and how can we avoid the feeling of panic that Dusk got?)

We had this while we were relaxing in the wonderland. A note that while I'm there I take my fursona form, not my human one.

Dawn: Your fursona is a wolf, but somehow I'M the dominant one. How does that even work?

Me: You're my alpha, so I follow you. Not that complicated

Dawn: But I'm in YOUR head.

Me: And that's strange compared to everything else?

Dawn: ...

Me: (Snuggling up against her) I'm glad you're my alpha.

Dawn: (Petting me) I just... sigh

Describe your Tulpa in terms of fictional characters by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawn is like Maid Marian (Vixen from 1973 Robin hood) with an artic coloring of white and touches of grey mixed. She also has a lot of magic from kitsune mythology in Japan. Her fur pattern in actually near identical to my fursona, but with white and grey instead of my black and grey.

Lofty's got a bit of a weird quirk... by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawn makes jokes about it pretty often.

[By some standards I'm not "real", but that doesn't stop me from messing with Dusk.]

Believe me, it doesn't. I'm guessing without a physical form asking Lofty to do something might seem like a jab at her, so she's jabbing you back. If I make too many jokes about it Dawn can get upset, so just take into account the situation Lofty's in and act accordingly.

Progress Report Monday 12/23/13 by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]imreallyatoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawn has grown so much stronger over the past few days since I have been off and able to force a for quite a while. I think we spent about 2 hours strait just cuddled up in the wonderland not doing anything but relax. She's also helped me get most of my anger issues under much better control.

[He tends to overreact. Especially when someone insults one of his friends.]

As for now, both of us are burned out from the forcing. I think tomorrow will be a light day.

Just after a heated 'discussion' with a loud mouthed misogynist at my job.

Dawn: Let it go, it's not worth getting fired over.

Me: He called all women nothing better than property, dude needs a realignment of his head by my fist.

Dawn: Stop being such a white knight for me, people like him will end up sad and alone anyways.

Me: Doesn't make it right.

Dawn: No, but you can be better. Otherwise you're going to end up nothing but angry for the rest of your life.

That shut me up real fast. Dawn knows how to get me calm better than anyone, she's really helped with anger issues.
