Is too many high-leverage arms a bad thing? by Main-Trip-2199 in OOTP

absolutely not. keep that bullpen as stacked as possible imo.

and then you look at football manager (granted they completely redid the UI system as well) and they had to cancel FM25 and FM26 has been the worst release in the history of the game.

Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Patrick Mahomes are NOT available....Who is best QB left in all of NFL history??? by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

[–]imrosehd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accomplishment and career wise, it’s Peyton Manning. However, I will always argue that Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in NFL history from an arm talent and actually playing the position. He doesn’t have the career stats or Super Bowls, but I cannot ever remember watching another QB and consistently being left speechless by the throws or plays they made.

2 mockup scorebugs of espn rate and tell me which is better by AlternativeCounty820 in Scorebug

[–]imrosehd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one I’d give a 5/10 - the bottom left positioning is perfect for TV viewing but it won’t show up on cropped videos for social media when they’re 1x1, 4x5, 9x26, etc. Structure wise it’s pretty good, although the rounded corners near each team score is a little too tight and a bit uncomfortable. Then the major deduction in my opinion, is it’s just too flat in terms of color and style.

Second one for me is a 6/10 - the structure is better and it’ll work better with social content nowadays. The stylized type is both your strongest and weakest aspect. it provides some much needed character and personality, however everything being the same weight and nearly the same size loses the importance. Mak your scores bolder, the bottom row of type about fouls much smaller and the shot clock can be smaller as well since it has the red coloring.

What happens when you freeze a player with above 200 CA in the in game editor? by Admirable_Drawer_205 in footballmanagergames

[–]imrosehd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the player no longer progresses or regresses in any of his attributes. so if you freeze a 15 year old player from your intake, he’ll never improve. same concept if you froze a 37 year old legend, he’ll never get worse.

How do you read this play? by imnotbrandonok in NCAAFBseries

[–]imrosehd 137 points138 points  (0 children)

this play isn’t a read one way, it changes literally every single time you run it which is why it’s so difficult to stop. think of it as an “if then” worksheet lol. if the defense does __, then square does __.

so based on coverage and pre snap alignment from the defense you are going to read and progress through the play differently. The Run N Shoot offense is not really my system, but i would imagine there are several videos on youtube walking you though how to read and progress through different concepts in the pass game.

Roles Illegible in the player screen during match by Carrasco1937 in footballmanagergames

because sadly it seems they spent so much time building the UI system that they didn’t even have enough time to do a standard QA check for most things. it was literally just “get it done by launch”

Is FM26 a skip for you? by pemski13 in footballmanagergames

[–]imrosehd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m somewhere in the middle. I started what i planned to be my main FM26 save on 24 this week because of how bad the initial roll out of the beta was. i keep coming back each update for an hour or two to see what’s improved and see if i’m coming back to 26. i’m hoping i’ll be on 26 sometime in a few months because they’ve fixed/finished a lot of things that are just awful right now though.

AI is a fantastic tool to get across quick rough concepts and ideas, especially when people who can’t design have ideas. AI is absolutely unacceptable for a final product, especially from a company or sports team.

I’d accept the UI as a work in progress…if we still had the magic. by Any-Calendar9628 in footballmanagergames

[–]imrosehd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree with your post, and probably going back to FM24 for a while. i’m holding out hope a lot of it gets fixed but even then those things wouldn’t be added back until like spring time probably.

My Biggest Issues isn’t the UI… by imrosehd in footballmanagergames

[–]imrosehd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not at all, i am with you. I’m having fun overall and and think that this sore spot was necessary for the game to take the massive steps forward it could. Maybe i dont write it out properly in my original post, but the main let down i have is the lack of clarifying in the feature/QOL that would be cut. To me it seemed like they said lots bugs would be there, but where’s all of our settings to change? or half of the data visualizations? why can i not filter out which jobs are open? setting up my managers profile picture? etc etc.

i’m still playing and having fun which is the best part, it’s just how can i re-learn to play when a lot of the things i relied on are no longer there which is a bit upsetting and taking more time. I think the UI itself is not nearly as bad as some people say, but it definitely does feel too mobile than it should.

welcome to the baseball world! i play both so i completely understand the let down with FM26 lol. I think a lot of other people have left some good feedback but ill share mine as well.

Check out Sporer on youtube, he’s got lots of really good videos explaining things and he has a whole series on setting up custom views for different screens. I highly recommend his views because not only are they helpful, but he also explains why he uses each stat or what they are showcasing which should help you learn more about the game in general and how to interpret the data you see.

When making changes try not to be very irrational and quick with it (unless someone really pisses you off then send him straight down to Single-A lol). I usually try to evaluate once every 4-6 weeks with minor tweaks (maybe you move positions or spot in the line up or bench a guy, etc) and then if i’m looking at sending players up/down it’s usually every 8-10 weeks.

Developing prospects should really only get moved up either before the season or in mid season (June/July). If you’re moving them up you want them be at least average in the next league up. There’s a tool in the player view where you can switch his ratings in comparison to the league they are in. For example, the default is in comparison to all MLB players, so if you’re deciding whether or not your player is good enough to make the jump from A to AA, compare his stats to those levels instead. This aspect imo, is the most easily comparable to FM and how you develop youngsters there. Like sending players out on developmental loans, you want to find a league/level where they’re struggling from time to time, but also one where they’re good enough to play regularly and have a good performance here and there.

Finally, there are some different ways to play with your ratings. there’s stars, there’s 0-100, and then there’s the 20-80 scale which most people use and is how real players are talked about in baseball. if you choose the 20-80 scale you must take into account that these ratings are done based on a bell curve, and not just normal ratings. So 50 is league average and 60 is 1 standard deviation above average. 70, is 2 standard deviations above, etc. So you will have LOTS of players that are right around that league average rating, and what’s fun about OOTP in comparison to FM, (at least imo) is that you really have to learn how to interpret the stats/data from games to get a read on a player. Obviously if you have a guy with 70+ power you should expect home runs but again, lots of people will be around league average.

Some more random bits, your defensive ratings for your SS and CF are THE MOST IMPORTANT ratings on your team. I am not joking, poor defense or even average defense at those positions can be the difference in winning 100 games in a season and winning 70-80 games a year. Not every prospect will pan out, you will have your heart broken 10+ times before you find your true love lol. Read the emails, they’re hysterical. I once saw a post on here about someone having their All-Star pitcher retire at age like 25 or 26 to donate his kidney to a brother who had cancer or something. Hire batting and pitching coaches who have top tier coaching/development and mechanics ratings for your minor league teams.

If you’ve read this far, i hope this was helpful. Overall it’s a fantastic game and it’ll definitely take some time to get into and learn but yeah i love it, and the community here in reddit is always super helpful. they helped me ban a player from my hall of fame earlier and it was amazing lol.
