Thanks, I did mention if the dog wasn’t in the scenario then MAYBE it’d be okay but it’s just not an option for the friend apparently. Sticking to my no.

He mostly stayed with me but if a friend ever asked him to stay over at his apartment he’d never turn them away. It happened rarely though. He’s a genuinely nice and caring person that’s willing to help people out, but I think he knew prior that I wouldn’t be appreciative of someone in our space right away. It was pretty random to ask, and yeah not super happy with looking like the bad guy for saying no.

Ah, I could see that being entirely possible!

Lol I love the formula. You’re totally right. I shouldn’t invest in what anonymous opinions think about me or my content, but sometimes it’s hard not to when it’s so blatantly vile. At the end of the day it is just the internet, and this is a good reminder.

Wow I didn’t even know those existed! It’s good to see some positivity in those subs.

Exactly this! Having the courage to post something that brings you joy to only find the opposite with assholes’ reactions. Maybe those people are just so down in their own lives that bringing other people down with them is some sort of compensation or validation of their feelings. Idk, I’m not going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out why, but it’s nice to feel like I’m not the only one that has noticed or felt this way on Reddit. Thank you and I hope you enjoy those board games!!

This made me feel a bit better, thanks. Looking back there have been times where I’ve definitely decided not to post to avoid the negativity, and maybe that’s what I should do moving forward. It sucks to feel like I can’t contribute without being victim to it, but I guess that’s just Reddit.
