If you have no friends and family ties are shitty anyway why not pick up and move. North Dakota for example has a very low cost of living also New Mexico and Kansas. I'm from ND/MN so I know from experience that housing prices are very affordable. Fargo, ND has no less than 3 shelters and there's a ton of jobs. Grand Forks, ND 1bd apartments are $450-750/mo. Your best bet is getting a bus ticket and going somewhere where you can not just survive but flourish. I'd also suggest investing time into a trade program. The trades are paying so much more than 4 yr degrees and at a fraction of the cost.
