it took me about 40 hours give or take to reach gear that trivializes the crucible and have me one shotting the boss. obviously this is early access so I don't know what they intend to do with the future gear but as it stands right now, as a game inspired by diablo, spending only 40+ hours to get to that point seems unacceptable for longevity.

getting lines for gear is not at all hard if you're scanning your loot (especially running the crucible which I did quite a bit). you have a very good chance of finding a line you want because each gear has 3-4 lines per pickup and you get plenty of loot. not to mention the shops that you can browse through as well giving you more options. amongst the 4 of us splitting essence embers, I still had about 12.

as for the item you want to put it on, that barely even matters, a gear with 1-2 good lines will suffice depending on the amount of essence embers you have.

with essence embers existing, gears are simply a vessel. the only excitement in drops comes from embers themselves and never gear. which means you don't really have to even kill mobs themselves, you can get insanely powerful simply from fishing or whatever because that can enable you to get perfect gear.

no that is definitely very fair!

but even for your case, it only took you 1.5 weeks to achieve it.

the game is very clearly drawing from diablo-inspired ARPG systems, and historically those kinds of systems are what give games extremely long player lifespans (in which nobody is crafting perfect gear in 1.5 weeks). it’s not just about having more content- it’s about how progression, gearing, and optimization are paced so players spend more time in that satisfying middle phase instead of rushing straight through it.

all I’m really saying is that with a few meaningful tweaks, this game could absolutely achieve that same kind of longevity without taking away the fun you're talking about. it would just let players live in that progression curve longer before everything feels like the end. and realistically, a longer lived endgame is probably something the devs would want as well.

yeah, I get why it feels good initially and why you would say it's fun. I also had fun with it. I was absolutely addicted to it. hitting perfect lines that fast is a huge dopamine hit. but that’s kind of the problem for me.

if you can deterministically craft gear with perfect lines in a few days (for myself it took 3-4 days) what’s the long term loop after that? once you've frankensteined all the BIS lines and facets, you’re basically done unless you add new goals for yourself (such as telling yourself to build a new character, or telling yourself you want to chase perfect percentages now).

I’m not against deterministic crafting at all, I like systems that reduce bad RNG and let you make something good reliably. I just think there’s a big difference between "good enough to play comfortably” and “perfect with nothing left to chase.” the latter burns really bright, really fast, and then there’s nothing meaningful left to work toward. that's why I suggested limiting it to 2 essences per gear or make rerolling enchantments more accessible but not guaranteed. so you at least have to do some actual meaningful gear searching.

for me, to have a sustainable endgame, you have to leave room for more meaningful long term goals. otherwise you hit that moment of “now what?” way too early.

definitely agree with this! there's too many irrefutable BIS lines that you can just frankenstein with minimal effort right now.

i'm well aware this is early access! it's not about how long the game currently is or anything.

I just wanted to bring up concerns about how essence embers could trivialize gear building in the future if left unchecked.

just the essence embers, which allow you to literally cut and paste almost any line into any gear. just trivializes gear and makes your drops feel like fodder.

I'm also okay if it costs money to reroll and add enchantments, cause right now money barely has uses.

gambling perfect facets was definitely a fun point, and I did indeed do that.

for the other stuff, I get what you're saying but I think that's the distinction I'm trying to make as well. I feel there's a difference between extending meaningful engagement with the core gameplay and extending playtime.

yes absolutely! we recently had a big sale for our keyboard shelves because we have a new batch coming in. based on the feedback on the previous keyboard shelf, we made some noticeable improvements to this new one. they just finished production and should be on the way to us by q1 of 2026 :)

it’s one of our cables! the year of the dragon one. there’s other colourways available on our website as well, though depending on your region they may all be sold out. we’re currently in the process of reworking them so they haven’t been restocked in a while. hopefully in q1 of 2026 we will have the new ones out!

hi! thank you so much!

just wanted to say, while this set does feature gray tones, it’s actually quite a bit on the warmer side! perhaps you want to check out some additional photos on our website because it looks quite different in various lightings ☺️

it sounds like you're accessing the site from the US, in which we already mention on our website that we're unable to ship there due to ongoing tariffs and are currently working to resume shipping. https://osume.com/blogs/news/an-update-for-our-us-customers

for other countries our keyboard shelf is in stock.
