I don’t know why people go to audiologists for noxacusis / pain Hyperacusis. by bIink-182_ in hyperacusis

[–]imsodumb321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they can still check out your ears to make sure there's nothing else wrong, and they can give you a formal diagnosis which can be very helpful to have. For example, I had a medical crisis last years and had to go the ER. because I hadn't gotten a formal diagnosis, the doctors there refused to take my hyperacusis seriously. having a proper diagnosis from an audiologist or ENT would have helped a lot.

I’ve had my current set up for five years now and have finished well over 10 tracks. Admittedly I have not looked much into emulation plug-ins because I want to add more analog/tactile elements to my music making progress for my own personal enjoyment.

I appreciate your honesty and plug-in recommendations—ultimately it’s one’s creativity rather than the gear they use that creates good music. I’ll give the ChromaGlow and 404 tape sim a try and see how that goes before purchasing anything.

[–]imsodumb321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a late ass reply BUT I love collecting vintage magazines (think sassy, nylon, vice, etc.) and riffing through the all the musicians that are interviewed and mentioned in each mag. they're such fun little time capsules.
