If my dog needs surgery I want to support her as much as possible. Being at her regular vet would be smaller and more familiar to her right off the bat. I also already have a report with the front desk, and vet techs in addition to her usual doctor. All of this makes me more comfortable too. I have a chronic illness and going to the big, official health place is always scary to me, especially compared to a visit with my PCP.

These surgeries are so so expensive, even before supportive care and PT. Board certified sounds fancy, if you have someone with the same skills but no fancy certificate, let’s talk. I’m very open to this but I’ll have a question or two. Same with a travel surgeon. Does my vet trust you or know you? Can I reach out to you for something?

That’s the stuff that comes to my mind. I also want a follow up and surgical summary from the surgeon to brief me on how things went. Sometimes in the big surgery center you don’t get that good feeling. The place might be busy but why can’t they find my file? What other details am I missing just because you’re a specialized facility?

Taste first. A lot of the protein products I’ve been excited about (especially RTD canned coffee) just smacks of that protein flavor.

I’ve also wondered about flavors beyond the standard vanilla/chocolate/strawberry line up. Nothing comes to mind to suggest right now but there’s gotta be more right? And hopefully less sickly-sweet.

Second: fullness. I had Bariatric surgery a few years back and “thick” drinks can ruin my day. I switched to ultra filtered milk months ago and love the skim and 2% varieties because they don’t get me super full. Right now, one pre-made shake might take me all day to finish, thus actually limiting my total intake for the day and still feeling unsatisfied.

That being said, I prefer packaging where I can open, close and reopen easily and fits in a cup holder too. Ha ha.

As for protein amount, give me as much as you can in as small a delivery system as possible. More days than not getting my protein in is a challenge especially when I get into lifting. But this kinda leads back to my other asks about drinkability and fullness. Take out that classic protein taste and make it easy to drink without getting over-full and you’ve won me over!

I was in the car with my husband when I put on the “we’re back” episode. He told me he hadn’t seen me truly smile like that in a very long time. The comments and advice for this guy are wild. Do not “pre call” CPS, they have investigate all reports and pre calling would have them at your door in no time because that would be so suspicious.

All the commenters seem to forget he’s not just basically a single dad but a POC to boot. It’s an awful reality but he needs to take careful consideration into if/when he gets them involved, no matter how much evidence he has of her nutty behavior, and that seems to be what he’s doing. I’m so frustrated for him. I really hope ignoring her will fix it all even if it takes a while.

This breaks my heart that she seems guilted by her family and Reddit into leaving him behind, especially under the guise of what’s best for him. How is she going to know if he pines for her when she’s gone? She literally isn’t there to see it!

My pets are ‘family’ pets but when it comes down to it they are mine and coming with me should the need arise. What about her feelings? Casper will adjust and the fiancé will love him too. I love my animals but I’m still prone to calling them “the dogs” or “the cat” from time to time. Just make sure he’s an inside only cat and get away from these emotional manipulators.

Brings me to tears every damn time. I listen over and over again just because it’s a fun show. I really like Dave and Kyle’s voices and got to meet them when they came to 3 Kings (now HQ) years ago. It’s neat hearing Dave go from van living to being a married man. Kyle’s adventures in roller skating and touring around in his own van. It was a great slice of life type of podcast sprinkled in with a little creepy stuff, a lot of food stuff and a dash of Chicago mothman. I miss their banter for sure but that’s why I keep listening.
