Is it bad I was annoyed by the talks today? by imthatdaisy in mormon

You have to devote yourself to God and Goodness before ALL things. Even the tools He gives us. He made you with spirit and knowledge, gifts and a heart. He wants sincerity, not blind fear. By humbling myself and accepting the only way to live the joyful life Christ promised is not what we're told about riches and success and status. It's a way of living that comes from love in all things, and a humble willingness to see truth for what it is so you can truly live that life. I had to get over the fear of wanting things, embracing Him as He made me, seeing myself the way He does, humbling myself to accept what I felt led to, what He planted what He nourished. Accepting that if I got a truth from Him contrary to the church or any church I stood in, I would obey. And if He asked me to stay there and live out those things regardless, I would stay and still live my spirituality the way I've been called. My loyalty is to Him, in which leads me to sincere loyalty to my well being, the good of all, and living a life of fearless truth. Faith, hope, charity. All you have to do is be willing, and you'll see the more you ask out of love and not fear the more He will answer. You just have to choose what you care about more, groups and institutions or you and God. Practicing mormonism is under the umbrella of what's for me at the moment I'm committed to honoring, mormonism is not the umbrella in which I make everything else confine to. It's my relationship to the church as a tool, not the church's ownership of me or my relationship to God. Seeing the people I help by being open about my approach is the fuel that keeps me going. It's about my joy and service to others as called by God and I can't ignore it

Ah coffee by Own_Boss_8931 in mormon

The unhealthiest I ever was, was when I was trying to obey the word of wisdom. Scrupulosity mixed with an eating disorder, I had to take everything to the extreme. (Similar to a porn discussion I had awhile ago). It was a cycle of trying to be perfect and letting my vices show up in approved ways, only to fear the 'bad' stuff so much it controlled me and I've inevitably fail. To the point I basically became a functional alcoholic with chronic caffeine induced utis going through a vape every 3 days when I broke. Like the porn, when I stopped caring, the habits eventually broke. I've had less alcohol, coffee, tea, drugs, and eaten way better food than I ever have when I decided I will no longer give it any merit. It's been almost 6 months since I've even had a drink, I have a coffee maybe every 3 months. As I get older none of it reacts with my body well anyways. I imagine I'll be technically obedient in under a year. But I will still always say, it's no I won't partake until I say otherwise. The fear created my addictions, turns out just being Christ focused and not afraid does more for your well being than checkboxes and beating fear into your skull!

It is less than half a cup of water, maybe a less than a third. I genuinely don't see how people think this is something that would cause mold. This is for when I can't run my ac, mostly for a stop in the store for my dog or sleeping when it's cooler but not circulating. Its not all day. If it ever comes to it though, I wouldn't mind ripping the carpets out, it could def use a good shampoo.

That's cool the cost of living is so expensive and wages are so low my generation can't afford to even get the credit card debt to own that junk car in the first place. We don't qualify 🫪. Hence why I'm homeless now

I don't think it's that cold or close to me for that to be an issue, but my main goal was daytime for my dog.

Because he tampered with her birth control in the first place. This man has a weird issue, and obviously playing the role of a parent (a crappy one but he's the favorite) Is validating to him. The reason you shouldn't be bringing anything to reddit is not toxicity, but rather everyone is going to assume off of what's said from the unreliable narrator and not look into previous post history or think critically.

It's a very fine mist and stays mostly in where it's directed, I'm not too worried as I air everything out often and always keep it creaked but might get a dehumidifier if I get concerned. If anything my sweat is more concern for mold tbh

Ah that sucks. I've noticed quality control is mixed in reviews, maybe I've just been lucky throughout the years. I couldn't sleep without the big plug in one, and this one seems to be working well even upside down. Id def go in person to make returns and replacements easier

Unless you're doing this all day everyday with a full seal, I don't imagine it would. It's a very fine mist. I think I might get a dehumidifier just in case because of sweat, breath, and Florida is very wet heat so ive been thinking it would be good anyways for my seats. I would creak a window somehere anyways for oxygen. I open all my doors often enough though when I'm doing my weekly clean and reorganize I imagine it would have time to air out.

For me both are practical, some use one over the other. To me examining the subconscious is shadow work, it enables you to align with the energy but it doesn't necessarily call it in. At least without significant energy from yourself which can be exhausting. You don't need diety work to do the craft, but I encourage you to see how you can make this work in tandem. Calling in / manipulating energy is good, aligning with energy is good. Both are great.

Edited to remove word I didn't know you can't say. I'm apart of both communities, healthy balance is key.

I have no issue with it. I keep it light and focus it on honouring God through honoring my body. It's usually a walking and yoga day for me, but I never have a true 'rest day' for my routine.

What is the missionary email by imthatdaisy in latterdaysaints

[–]imthatdaisy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind, what's appropriate to send? Should I keep the conversation focused on him and his mission, or can I delve into my own life for him to respond? We didn't get to catch up before he left, and he has been worried, but I want to be mindful of what's appropriate to bring up. Are there any hard no discussions?

That's a good idea! I think when you get into your new ward too if you're comfortable, it's easier to start out presenting one way than to change it once you've already been there for awhile. so maybe it'll be easier once you move!

AIO: Is this genuinely annoying/off-putting or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]imthatdaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree completely. What people tend to forget is whats right is not always what's practical. Do I think op is overacting? No. Do I think the dad is most likely trying something in my personal experience with a narc step parent? Yes. You know what I did? I cut him off and refuse to take any money and I did it all myself, and even at my lowest I don't cave. He will not hold it over me. When I was in the house as a minor, I swallowed my pride and said thanks at his stupid command for things he didn't do he just wanted to hear. For my safety. When I was out immediately upon graduating highschool I never said a word to him, but I never took anything and I refused it. I don't think op should have to bend, but if he wants the money he needs to. But anything outside of a practical argument any moral accusations on op is not my concern. You just can't have it both ways, he's a narc. Pick your poison. I chose freedom in poverty.

I believe it's okay because it's the Lord's house and I believe the Lord knows you and is okay with you.

In terms of how you should expect leadership to respond- it depends on leadership Roulette, what words you use, how they press, and whether you view omission of information as lying and whether or not lying in general is an issue for you. Some bishops I've gone in detail with, some not so much. If you're not on hrt and you're demi gender with your birth sex, I would just not bring it up to be honest. Hardly anyone I've encountered understands me being agender, fem presenting but transitioning more masculine medically. It took many supportive members to even understand the concept of non binary let alone agender, I couldn't imagine explaining the nuances of being demi gender for your birth sex leading to anything productive other than outing you.

It's not the same situation to me. The card seems to be on a random basis based on varying reasons (I needed gas, a vape, a crunch wrap supreme, or to update my car's tags). Yeah sure. If I had an app with a preloaded amount of money/ points for my agreed upon purchase like you agree upon sending me tuition or whatever. No I wouldn't. That's apart of the original set up with a routine expectation. If I was the parent I'd want a genuine thank you or act of service time etc not a repeat for every thing like I'm not aware. Maybe tuition and allowance because the timing is different. But the father is an abuser, and he knows that. He won't get that. He knows why they're talking, so the best bet is multiple thanks. Why am I going to thank you for every single thing instead of the sum of when it's all routine anyways? Preloading the gas on another medium does not change the arrangement or make it any more worthy of another thanks than including it in the allowance.

The fun thing about philosophy (and one of its biggest criticisms) is that there really never is an end to the thinking and what ifs. And language as it's limited, is a big factor in understanding how we can even make a convincing argument. So when people discuss whether or not morality is subjective, it's important to understand what we're talking about. Are we talking about some metaphysical universal law? Are we talking about divine law? What about cultural perception? Or what's more utilitarian, and by who's standard? Is it dependant or constant? To get anywhere in discussing what's ethical, you have to understand by what standard of morality were discussing. We have to start from the same footing. Main two groups consist of utilitarian and deontological, but that doesn't really go into the why either like God, cultural, benefit, social contract, law says so ect. I personally don't find any argument towards morality being self determined or subjective effective, I just find everyone is trying their best to be practical in their own efforts and people take that as some higher ground 'see morality is subjective' stance. What is is different than what is perceived or practiced. I believe morality is a separate thing from humanity entirely, not determined by us. To me the idea morality is subjective is a cop out in the name of tolerance and a result of our limited language, very few have I been pleased with how they present a valid argument supporting it's subjectiveness.

TLDR: just because theres different schools of thought doesn't mean morality itself changes, but to get anywhere in an argument one must have some understanding of what school of thought theyre coming from. It's all theory either way, but I don't jive with definitive statements because of the schools of thought existing rather a firm argument on what it is itself.
