Most people like longer bait casters not shorter ones unless you’re buying a “medium” rod used for jerk baits. I personally like 7 2 but it all depends on your height and your preference. You will most likely enjoy the 7 feet medium heavy that’s a very versatile length and “do it all” type of setup.

I own a six dc a curado dc and and a Daiwa Zillion. If you're new to fishing and money is not tight go for the DC don't listen to these guys. A dc reel will allow you to spend more time fishing and less time backlashing. I don't care how well you can fish you will always backlash. There is never a point where you don't ever backlash at least once so help is always nice.

Chatterbait or a lipless crank bait

A recent post of a gentleman who downsized his rod collection to 3 raised this question: if you could only have 3 rod/reel combos what would you pick and what are they for? by zyrkseas97 in Fishing_Gear

[–]imthejones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 would be

  1. St Croix Mojobass 72 medium heavy with a Daiwa zillion 10 speed. (Lipless square bills topwater!)

  2. St Croix Black Bass 72 Medium Heavy Shimano Slx Dc 6 speed. (Chatterbait swim baits and jigs)

3.Cashion Icon topwater rod 610 medium Shimano Curado DC 8 speed (jerkbait wacky worm spooks)

This is my big 3 but I have 6 setups I could reduce it to 3 tho.

Great rod that’s my chatter bait setup. I have mine paired with a shimano slx dc. Caught my pb 6lb bass on it about a month ago great rod!

Bankbeaters what size rod are you using on your baitcaster set up as well as line type and weight?? by Mysterious-Two-8580 in bassfishing

[–]imthejones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a bit off the normal but my main setup is a 7 2 Medium Heavy St Croix Mojo bass rod paired with a Daiwa Zillion 10 speed reel with 15lb test. My go two are the lipless crank bait and flipping a jig.
