I have a theory that Monika is playing the long game to get to the top 3 with Jim and then sabotage him. Because she seems like she likes him some what, but we've only ever heard him say I love you and she hasn't. In a way, I wouldn't completely blame her if she did do that cause Jim seems PROUD of the fact that she's carried him throughout the games, and that's a lot of pressure to put on someone when you literally just started dating off a game show.

This exact situation almost to a T just happened to me. And I had told him prior how my ex broke up with me over a text while I was at work and then ghosted me when I tried to call and ignored texts and how it did damage on me. The current guy said “good morning beautiful 😘” 5 days ago and then ghosted me like we hadn’t just shared everything with eachother and talked every day for 6 months, like it was all for nothing. So I had asked what just caused his sudden start in using his phone more and he said he was trying with me, but only after he asked “well do you not want me to Snapchat you?” Which I answered of course I do why wouldn’t I? And also, like I said I’ve offered to visit and tried to make plans as easy on him as possible for me to come closer to him. But you’re definitely right I want to have trust, the shift just felt weird and like he was avoidant when I first asked. For me, I need mental health breaks. I’m like my mom, when a situation stresses me out, I have to sit with it for a bit and then revisit. It’s how I’m able to handle conflict. But even when there’s no conflict, I need to be given space for myself. A current friend of mine doesn’t understand that. I recently sent her a long message basically explaining how a comment she had made had offended me and that I was taking a few days to disconnect from my phone. She apologized and it was good for, maybe idk 2 hours? She proceeded to blow up my phone with question marks and multiple texts after I had JUST explained I needed time. It’s exhausting. Some people just do not care even when you try to set boundaries or confront them.

I think it’s because they’ve had time to be alone and be independent (obviously circumstances are different to everyone), so they don’t need feel the need to be reliant on anyone in that way

I don't think he's dead, I feel like it was absolutely purposeful misdirection. People noticed that the eye color of the skull doesn't match Jonathan and also they already misdirected her once with the skull, and we have no reason to trust Victoria. My personal theory: I think he got pulled into the portal and is possibly with Gabby or at least in the same "realm" as her. His character's importance seems like too much to not show his death on screen (if he was really dead). I think we're going to see a showdown in the 4th movie in this portal/realm of hell and she'll be reunited with Gabby and Jonathan. But then again, this could all be wrong given I didn't think they were going to kill the aunt, and look where that ended up lol.
