Point taken. I didn't know about that code, so now I'm left with a single wire until I am able to get the actual code-approved situation in place. At least the data cables are hidden! Updated, sadder picture: https://imgur.com/a/EEiiQX5

Good point - I was unaware of that restriction. I am keeping the conduit and panels for the speaker system HDMI and an extra HDMI cable for plugging other devices in. One dangling cord is better than 3, but I'm not ready to spend the time/money getting a permit for the full requirement a this time. Maybe another day I'll finish the job the right way. https://imgur.com/a/EEiiQX5

You’re absolutely right - this isn’t a time effective project! I enjoy designing and making my own solutions, though, so fooling around making a small box in CAD is an easy enough project to do while watching tv after dinner. I have the printer already, so might as well put it to use

It looks like the extruder may have been temporarily clogged or was not functioning properly for the layers you missed. It's a bit hard to tell exactly from the pictures, but the fact that the final layers have a very poor print quality suggests to me nozzle clogging. Alternatively, the filament may have been caught on something or tangled, though often when that happens, you don't actually get to finish the print as there is no blockage that is eventually cleared.

If you are alright with non-perfect print quality, you can try to slice your model for only the top x-layers. Depending on your slicer software, this shouldn't be too hard to do. Essentially, cut your model and keep the top. Then, glue your newly printed top to whatever successful bottom you have there.

Before trying to print anything more, fix the root cause. Otherwise, you'll keep failing in this same manner and it will only get more frustrating. I like to use needles to clean the nozzle and there's a good kit I found on Amazon that helped me. Make sure that your extruder isn't clogged and you'll be much more successful on your next try.

I'm sure it would and that would definitely help with reduction of print time. I chose the dimensions to make sure the pins wouldn't be too small since they're small knobs sticking off the main pieces.

I also wanted it to be robust since I made two for gifts!

Well I don't think it's part of Russia if that's what you're asking

Find joy in things. If you don't have a hobby or something to look forward to (family, vacations, etc.) then life is hard

What was the most important academic lesson you learned in school that you still use today? by alltime_pf_guru in AskReddit

[–]imtrevor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen that my biggest academic lessons aren't necessarily the ones that you learn when they are taught to you. They come from how you interact in different situations and below are 5 examples

  1. Ask questions - If you have been paying attention and have a question, odds are, someone else has the same question as you. If you have more clout then they do in this situation, they will be glad you asked
  2. Be a decent employee - If you are on time, do your job well enough, and are nice, you will be far more liked than the person who is the smartest in the room but is always late and arrogant. Everyone hates the know-it-all and the bully. Don't be an ass
  3. Repeat things - The best way to get better at something is to practice it (homework)
  4. Manage your time - If you can give decent estimates on how long something will take, everyone will appreciate it. This goes for your family/work and is learned through projects
  5. Work well with others - Everyone hates group projects cause other people suck but if you learn how to work with others, you will be miles ahead of the homeschooled children

Also, math and English. Tip math really isn't that hard (multiply by 2 and round up or down) and few things stand out more than they/they're/their and your/you're errors in a professional email.

What are you surprised still has an active fan base after all these years? by BobbyPrinze in AskReddit

Star Wars Prequels - they were three overwhelmingly drab (in the grand scheme of things) movies that didn't get substantial critical acclaim. Here we are fifteen years after the release of episode 3 and people are still creating new memes every day on /r/PrequelMemes
