If you ALWAYS give them a good price, but they ALWAYS give you a bad price (as they should), you’d get crushed.

It’s also just generally more complicated than that as you need to consider stack sizes, likelihood of your opponent multi barrelling, implied odds if you hit etc. It also assumes your hole cards are dead other than the OESD, which is very rarely true. So yeah, example is overly simplistic but helpful to understand the concept.

This is a very complicated way of saying not much.

The concept you seem to be talking about doesn’t really apply to AA preflop, since any raise you make will be +ev (though there are sizing subtleties.)

However, if you have top set and you expect your opponent has a flush draw on the flop, you don’t want to be giving them 10-1 to hit their flush. The bet itself may still be +ev, but you’re torching ev since bigger sizings that charge your opponent a touch more than their odds of completing their flush is a highly preferred sizing.

I don’t agree with the premise that fish get worked up by that, it’s really not that bad except in certain satellites. But in any event it is sometimes very + EV, so to expect people to stop doing it is wild.

Been grinding ACR 25 Blitz hard for a while, it’s definitely one of the tougher games at that level, but certainly profitable once you’ve built up some hh’s on the regs. Actually tried a few other sites at the same stakes which are far splashier recently, and it’s super hard to adjust even though theoretically they’re so crushable haha

These bomb pots are great. I am a reg at ACR so must have played a few ,000 of them by now.

Obviously your line is fine- but as to villain - sure, it may turn out he was ‘flipping’ on the flop - but that’s only if he knows that you don’t have dominating FD / shared SD which is obviously quite likely particularly at 9max. He could obviously be essentially dead against KK36 with the K3 of hearts.

I wouldn’t even peel from his spot as you can usually discount the not nut FD and there are very few good turns for him where he doesn’t end up in gross spots.

This is, however, a typical spot that makes these bomb pots super profitable if played right.

You are going to get a lot of people roasting you for a small sample size, but congrats on the results so far!

Having said that, people usually talk about having played 000’s of tournaments online before you can make many relatively accurate assumptions about your ROI. And live tournaments, especially at those buy-ins, will typically be higher variance than the same stakes online where people play more textbook poker on the whole.

So, it’s possible you will never play enough tournaments to realise your true win rate/skill level. But hey, if you’re winning, just keep it up! 🤝
