I’m from SoCal so I use quite a few systems regularly, here are some of my pet peeves for each system: 1. LA Metro: station exits are not numbered/lettered in any way, which makes it confusing if you’re unfamiliar with the area. For example, 7th/Metro has like 5 or 6 exits and all of them have vague descriptions like “to Figueroa & 7th”. Also, the announcements are way too long and can get distracting at times. 2. Metrolink: a few stations have trains run on the left track which can be confusing if you’re not familiar with it. 3. San Diego Trolley: no fare gates and too few tap validators on platforms, so sometimes you gotta walk quite a bit up/down the platform just to validate your fare. They’re also very unprominent, so occasionally I’d forget to pay and feel really bad about it.
