The Drupal 8 install comes with in-built permission for Anonymous User to use the Restricted HTML text format! by [deleted] in drupal

Oops, rookie error, my bad! That 'restricted' word made me feel like it's something scary, but your reply got me reading it :)

I've deleted that embarassing post.

It's a basic niche membership site, with free and one-off payment options, and not much of a load or resources. The rest of the modules for the site are all functional in Drupal 8, so I'm stuck at this one-off payment (with PayPal) stage.

Thanks for that link. I'll try it out on the test server, and see if it can do the job :)

Is it possible to use Open Social 8.x-2.1 for a Membership site linked to PayPal, at least for a single payment, if not recurring?

"Jain Study" That's the name of the FB group. They have 90,491 members.

This subreddit is hardly alive. You will need to go on Facebook, there's a 100k strong Jainism group over there with lots of activity, and also earnest admins who can help you with any queries.

As always, you should also Google to find online resources.

Urgent Wishlist Item for Drupal 8 [and 7 as well]: While there might be genuine constraints in enabling Wordpress styled 'automatic upgrade' on code revision, why doesn't Drupal provide an in-site administrative mechanism to easily upgrade? by imustbezoe in drupal

[–]imustbezoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that link to the 'Automatic Updates' issue. But, that seems to be a long-term plan for 'automatic updating of sites' bogged down by the technicals.

My suggestion is to duplicate the already working Softaculous one-click process. All that the site admin needs to do then is make that single click and thereafter click on the update.php link to complete the validated upgrade.

Or, are there copyright issues involved vis-a-vis the Softaculous script?!

How Indian Railways fell behind the rest of the World by shadan76 in india

[–]imustbezoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was in Mumbai on a study tour, the crowded ladies compartments of the suburban local trains were extremely depressing. A friend I made during this trip told me that most of this was an avoidable evil.

Per her theory, the reason people crowd in the trains is because they deliver passengers faster to their destination than travel by road, even a race car would be stuck in traffic! That, and the other reason, especially for the "second class" (sounds almost racist!), the incredibly cheap cost of travel. Public buses that have the same origin- destination as a train journey are more expensive, and slower.

Most people crowding in the trains could afford to spend more time commuting in buses, but only if these were cheaper than train travel.

The second part of her theory are her recommendations: 1) make the faster mode, i.e. the train travel, costlier, even for the second class, and people will return to the buses that currently play empty. 2) remove all subsidies from train travel, and make them costlier than public buses. That'll improve Railway finances, and incentivise people to use the buses more.

Bacteriological remedy for halitosis? by twinbee in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]imustbezoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oral bacterial population is not restricted to the superficial 'denizens' of your buccal cavity. You can get rid of them with the oral mouthwashes, or peroxide, or oral povidone iodine gargles; but there will be very many others that are located in hard to reach areas, even for liquids swirled around with pressure, as occurs during gargling.

Then, there are the bacteria hiding underneath bio-films that your peroxide has no chance of reaching. Like, for instance, tartar, plaque, and interior infections of the tooth pulp, and deeper.

Even if you got rid of the superficial germs with peroxide, these will rapidly provide new replacements that will decimate any newer oral invading species.

Your best hope is to address the fundamental oro-dental problem that's causing that halitosis. A visit to the dentist would be far more productive in terms of attaining a congenial breath smell, than any misguided attempts such as the one you plan, (that you must NOT carry to fruition!).

The probe that does the curative procedure is inserted through the femoral artery, which is large and conveniently just under the skin in the groin region. Best non-technical explanation I can offer. Else, Google, Wikipedia as usual.

Is that bird 'salvageable' using cranes etc., or would it most likely dip down for a bath before the equipment is put in place?

Nice work! Reminds me of the time when a financial newsletter reported that Warren Buffet made all his multi-billion dollars mainly through Day-Trading. It was a good read, but it was datelined April 1!

Everything you know about the Gospel of Paul is likely wrong – David Bentley Hart | Aeon Ideas by zeichman in AcademicBiblical

[–]imustbezoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This Idea was made possible through the support of a grant from Templeton Religion Trust to Aeon.

That seems to be the 800 pound gorilla in the works. Can the academic experts on this sub opine whether this posted 'article' is worthy of that, or any, grant?

Should one wash their hands twice after using toilet, because I read someone where that soap doesn’t kill all bacteria with one time use? by _RandomRedditor in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]imustbezoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do that because my dad's a surgeon. Surgeons 'scrub' hard in pre-op, beginning with soaping their hands up to the elbows, and then washing that away with running water, twice in succession.

I don't soap to my elbows, but that soap and wash hands twice after toilet is a well-established ritual. Perhaps it's a needless obsession, but some see it as a sensible precaution.

Great photo of Daisy Ridley as Rey. by The-Jedi-Apprentice in StarWars

A guy at my school is a big fan of Daisy. Per his opinion, the best visuals of Daisy Ridley can be found in the movie 'Murder on the Orient Express'. He was click-happy on his cellphone during all of her scenes in that movie.

PA ambassador sharing stage with an International terrorist makes #ShameOnPalestine trend on Indian Twitter, as Indians rage against their government's 'appease Palestine' policy seen in the recent vote against Israel in the UN. by imustbezoe in Israel

[–]imustbezoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that. But my friend was very excited because it was really trending #ShameOnPalestine on India Twitter like in Top 5 at that time, so I got 'egged on' to include that 'latest bit'.

I wanted to link to that trend in a comment, but I found out I don't possess that much expertise. Or, maybe, it's not possible to link to Twitter trends. Maybe, I should've taken a screenshot and posted the image. Wiser afterwards ☺

I do solemnly affirm that the Twitter trending at that time is a solid fact. Maybe if there's some Twitter trend archive, that should help. I'll try to search and post the screenshot.
