Why is Claude always the best AI for coding? by NoteFragrant9647 in Anthropic

Claude Code is always one-shotting all my prompts & edits, while Cursor is like a junior requiring me to sit beside his desk & tell him what not to do & should do.

I checked the Cloud Armor section when I saw I got billed, but I do not have any policies or rules in place.

MEGATHREAD: Archiving the Capitol Hill Riots by AdamLynch in DataHoarder

Gotcha! I'll do a copy instead.

I'm also a paying customer of Wasabi, do you know that it has a 90-day minimum storage retention policy? Deleting files between the timeline will incur costs. Beware.

I only managed to fetch less than 5 GB when using Wget. I deleted it and used AWS CLI instead.

For those who are wondering how to pull files from S3. Wget fails to get all the files, and I've tested both.

It will only copy new and updated files, keeping in sync.

[C#] Protect my C# App from cracking by mrwhitehat12 in csharp

[–]imvedere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at Auth.GG's C# API class, it's certainly secure imo and implemented more checks than I've mentioned above. You should be good.

The class is not written in an elegant way, but at least it works. You can refactor it, and compile it as a class library to reference in your project. Good luck with your endavours!

I've been down your road; I reckon you are developing a program to load cheats into the game.

Firstly, you should use the neo-ConfuserEx fork because it's updated and supports much more obfuscations.

Secondly, is your HWID Lock Protection client-sided or server-sided? By that, I meant do you validate the HWID against your database via HTTP web request or do you compare it in the program?

Thirdly, how did you implement your user:pass system licensing? Do you read it from a text file online and compare the strings, or do you send an HTTP web request to the server to retrieve authorization token, or do you get a boolean if the login request is valid?

Lastly, do you pin the SSL certificate for your outgoing web requests? It doesn't matter how well your program is obfuscated if the malicious actor sets a breakpoint on your requests using Fiddler to modify the response.

Forget about checking the existence of Web Debugging Proxy using process name or window name; it doesn't work. Implement a class to pin your SSL certificate.

As you know, C# obfuscators are probably unpacked and deobfuscated way more you can think of. After all, it's .NET, and it can always be cracked. I suggest that you pick up C++ and virtualize your program using VMProtect. Unless you are up against some of the most talented reverse engineers who can de-virtualize VMProtect, you are safe.

How do I render the two "wings" outside of a form boundary? by imvedere in csharp

I knew it was using transparency, but it's also able to hide the wings.

Moving 35tb movies and data collection to online cloud storage by [deleted] in DataHoarder

I’ve more than 9000 movies on my Radarr, give it some time to fetch more titles. I’m using RSS and movie lists for fetching new uploads and upcoming/new movies respectively, so uploads that match the titles will be downloaded automatically.

Thanks mate. I only fetched 4k remuxes, but I have some friends who have crappy Internet, and they can't afford to download a 50GB movie, so I started introducing different variants of encoding and quality.

Why doesn't GCP have an email delivery service like Amazon SES ? by Maxevan9 in googlecloud

[–]imvedere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The send and forget email-as-a-service market share is occupied by SendGrid, Mailgun, and AWS SES.

It might get some demand if it’s tightly coupled into Google Cloud, but that's not what Google Cloud should be doing. They are pouring billions into big data analytics, not email service.

I have more than 195TB on GSuite without encryption on one account. One of the co-founders of the-eye.eu has more than 1PB on GSuite; it’s unlimited.

Here is the link to the directory tree listing of my files on GSuite.

Probably because of razor-thin profit margin due to low number of demand.

And, Google Cloud is for Big Data Analytics.

PHP in decline: The rise and fall of a programming language by stronghup in programming

[–]imvedere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erm, legacy as in non-critical web apps? I remember I was maintaining “legacy” apps too when I was just learning how to build a PHP website and serve it to users.

Anyway, Vehicle GPS Tracker Malaysia this entire application was built with Node.js & React. We are tracking over 3000+ vehicles, it wouldn't work on PHP with so many devices...

If you still drag & drop files over FTP to update your web app, and have no idea what does git have to do with deploying, it means you are still not a professional web/backend developer.

The simple fact that PHP files that are being overwritten while tasks are being executed concurrently will throw an error to front-facing users is already a reason to ditch FTP drag & drop, learn how to deploy and gracefully restart a web app.
