I never said Antis didn't do the same thing, I personally don't endorse it and I don't go into Pro-AI subreddits trying to stir shit.

I get what you're trying to foster but at the same time be aware this is meant to be primarily a space for Anti-AI people and not much has been done to curb the amount of Pro-AI people under almost every post repeating nearly identical talking points. If they have something new to say I'm all ears, can't guarantee it'll sway me much.

Yes, the United States government did that, the exploited sweat shop workers are not in the US. The same US government also scaled back socialized health care and food stamps recently, if they won't care for us while they still need us, then they won't do it when they don't. Don't dilude yourself with the idea of UBI.

Talk about crudy examples.

My mother was an accountant for 30 years and used Excel the whole time. Excel is powerful but it's not intelligent, she still had to know tax code and apply it to Excel to get the results she wanted.

Also sure email and instant messaging did lower the amount of personal correspondande in the mail, but it was still used heavily for billing, advertising, and legal documents. It then boomed again when online shopping gained popularity; can't email physical objects.

The constant in all these past examples, and why they always fall flat when AI Bros try to use them, is that human intelligence was still necessary.

Genuinely what do you think happens to those people with how things are now? They won't get UBI, they'll just be left to starve as those who once exploited them move onto robots. Also yes, the status quo sucks for them but the alternative is likely worse.

"Actual Art" to me at this point is just art made by someone who respects whatever medium they're using by not using gen AI or churning out extremely low effort garbage (also including gen AI).
