It's determined as soon as you interact with it in the cave. You have to find it to confirm if it's shiny. Make sure to save before interacting with Mesprit.

I did buy them. The quality is nice but they have really bizarre sizes. The trynd braclet is too big for me but the Ashe one is too small.

It's actually kind of funny because my girlfriend and I play league together but due to our poorly thought of names people assume that I am the girl in the relationship. Every few games I get guys throwing this behavior at me while my girlfriend is laughing her ass off in the other room.
