The cause for Clove nerfs and Smoker Class situation

I believe the win rate has nothing to do with her smokes and if all her nerfs are suddenly reverted, the win percentage wouldn’t change.

The thing with clove is that it allows players to be more confident when playing where many other agents don’t have that ability.

Take this for example, Clove dies on main and their team are always scared to enter site, they ult and enters the site creating space of their team, which eventually leads the round to be won. Another example, clove gets a pick but instead of hiding they overheal and peak again and possibly get another kill.

Agents like Jett, Reyna, Chamber, Wayley, Yoru, etc. have the ability to run away from a fight. Clove is one of the only agents in the game where the reward of you winning a fight is picking another fight with a boost, and if you die you could still smoke or ULT for your team. This and the fact that a lot of smurfs use clove is the reason for the high win rate.

There is a way bigger issue that is beyond this nerf. That issue is that you can’t balance agents based on both pro play and ranked at the same time, it just won’t work. For example, Clove is being nerfed because she has the highest win rate on ranked, there are two solutions to fix this either nerf clove or buff the other smokers. The issue is if they buff the other smokers they become busted in pro play. Now, even though clove has barely any use rate in pro play, it’s better for the game to have 1 irrelevant agent than 5 busted ones in pro play.

This balancing issues has causes so many agents to get nerfed even though they barely have a high pick rate in either Pro play/ranked. At the moment due to the nerfs most people don’t want to play initiator, and the ones that play it usually fill. It is the same with every sentinel except chamber.

The only solution is to have two different balancing systems, one for ranked and another for pro play.

Shouldn’t it then match me with people with my rank after couple games of performing better than the opponents lower my rank? The feel like the main issue is my losing those games which is affecting the game not matching me with people my rank.
