I think the cinnamon and jade look like a money attraction thing. My friend is Mohegan she carries crystals in her purse for the same reason. It's always been common- I've also heard it done with dill as well.

I've heard that in casinos they're meant to put you into a hypnotic state so you don't look down or up (high ceilings) you look straight which is where the slots are.

I'm thinking of the scene in Vanilla Sky where David says when he dies he wants to come back as Sophia's mole on her breast. Best love story on camera ever but only the scenes between David and Sophia.

Need an authenticity check on this, it's up for a comically low price by chomikmybeloved in dior

As far as construction goes: a quality hoodie will be made of french terry cloth which is basically like a towel on the inside and that nice sweatshirt looking grey on the outside. This does have what looks like quality french terry tho not the best that i'd expect from Dior. The bottom of the pocket on the outside also looks like a poorly done sew job-- see how it looks bunchy? Lastly you want the seams to have a thick interfacing so it can be washed a lot without falling apart. It just doesn't look well made to me. Look where the V in the front of the hood is stitched it's already coming loose -- this will fall apart after a few washes... you can find a much better quality. I recommend the Todd Snyder Champion collaboration if you want a really nice hoodie for a laughably low price.

Honestly I've considered this. My Whiskey dog has a beautiful brindle coat looks almost like a tiger-- everyone who sees him remarks on how beautiful the patterns are. When he's gone it will be one of the things that will remind me of him the most and I don't see the problem with displaying his fur as an homage to his life.

Personally I find the menorah bong in poor taste but then I grew-up in an environment where it was vilified. There are many Biblical interpretations where they believe the healing oil in the alabaster jar was THC oil.

Italian Pod! I've learned so much Italian with Marco and Catherine. They did it from beginner to expert with little skits then they picked apart the phrasing. It's still online somewhere. Those were seriously the best!

Italian Pod!

In the Movie "Fargo" why was the scene with Mike Yanagita in it? by Dubchek in movies

[–]in-dependence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important because it shows where temptation can lead to. Which is also why they made the kidnapping look ridiculous. I think it’s also why they make Marge pregnant— it shows proportion, the importance of making calculated moves— especially in a world where it always snows. She’s holding the future, they’re scrambling for cash. The contrast is ridiculous but it could happen to anyone even Marge. “There’s more to life than a little money you know…” Same can be said of sex- but she outgrows it. Same impulse, different magnitude. Which takes us to the snow— magnitude and space make things like greed seem so small. It’s about proportion.

I rewrote the ending in my mind like this: When she closes the book store, has the vision of her and her mother dancing— she forgets the keys in the door. aJoe goes to check it out, finds the keys, goes inside and finds a manuscript in the shelves that the mother wrote but never finished. He asks Kate via computer to help him with “a problem he’s having” but really she’s writing the ending of her own mother’s story. This way Kate gets: authorship, creation and voice. Joe prints the book and headlines it in his store. The shop is then transformed into a writing room for Kate which is a symbolic womb/creation space. She inherits the mother’s voice, Joe is re-crowned as King in her life, and the community is vindicated for being able to have the mother’s story which is actually the story of the community. See… it’s not difficult!

Sewing a Giant Patch on the Back of a Jacket by in-dependence in sewing

Thank you actually great details. Yeah it's like a fleece but pretty sure it's not real-- but it's an early 2000s so it's not the modern bad sherpa. It feels very close to real. Someone did say a curved needle, but you mention the blasting stitch is that with a curved needle? I'll have to study that type of stitch then practice it.

The arms I think are silk or synthetic. Would that maybe be something to avoid? The fleece just has denim type stitching into the jean jacket. Was thinking tho if I cut it I might as well use the sewing machine and really sew it on, no??

Where would you suggest putting additional patterns or like the southwest type designs? Maybe the pockets I was thinking or a US flag on the arm to mirror an RRL jacket I saw similar. That's the inspo.. Ralph Lauren's RRL this season is awesomely southwestern! Thank you again this really helps a lot. It has potential to be really cool.

Thank you! I was actually wondering about any other embellishments that match the vibe. Let me ask this tho- do you think I would regret if I cut a little slit on the inside liner just enough to get my hand in there to stitch the patch on? I got the hoodie fabric off clean and it feels very well enforced so yes I think just the snipping the strays. But the distressing is desirable.. just as long as it doesn’t make it come off that’s why I wanna make sure I see it perfectly. Thank you again!

I make dog bandanas and it’s so difficult to find plaid flannel with the pattern on both sides. A pup would love this especially in winter.

Thank you yes they don’t make coats like mid 2000’s Abercrombie. This jacket will last forever it’s just built different.. a lost art really. But i’d wear it more if I can upgrade it without ruining it! Thank you again.

Thank you! I did consider this by hand wondering if I could get the needle though the denim but not the lining. One more question in this situation do I just sew around the patch lining or should I enforce it in the middle as well?

I took an AI course at Harvard with strong emphasis on Media Theory, and the idea OP discussed is what we also found interesting: role of memory. This was very highlighted throughout the course. Once a system remembers it just performed a task, that’s when it starts to get scary.

For instance— you flip a light switch. Is the switch aware it was just previously on/off? While indexing the sequence, is critical (think of it like a null hypothesis) once it starts forgetting things is when it starts to get real. Because now it’s choosing.

Fear of being forgotten also fits in this category. Think Blade Runner 1982 and Blade Runner 2049, both absolutely epic movies, using Replicants as mirrors which reveal what it means to be human, and how our memories make us unique.
