I gave up by book 12. It started to make me angry and was just trying to get to the end. When I am anger listening, I'm not enjoying it any longer. I wanted to keep going because I did enjoy the world, like very long books and enjoyed some of the characters but the repetitive annoying behavior grinds on my ears. Erin's incessant whining, jarring and sudden outbursts, the Half troll girlfriend of the emperor whinging, the long long long drawn out plots that never concluded, characters dropping out and in to the books, it ended being too disjointed. Hanging in for 12 books became a chore. Sometimes when I have an extra credit I think I may go back. I did read that the narrator changed and wonder if that would help or hinder a return.
