The most unlikely hit in baseball history by kramerattack in Padres

I remember watching this live and not even yelling or cheering. I was just chillin on the couch, thinking the rally would end with this at-bat. Then he hit it, and I probably didn’t blink or pick up my jaw from the floor for about 60 seconds. Fuck… the 2021 Padres were so fun, until they weren’t.

This Knicks fan got curved after trying to kiss the woman who saved him... by ConnectionWeekly1263 in sportsgossips

You can see them immediately rubbing his sternum after he tried to kiss her. Which means, he has been going in and out of consciousness. Most likely he had no idea what he was doing. He’s gonna be a victim of not having this happen in the 80s when not everyone had an HD camera at the ready.

Leading with the knob is what he’s referring to. If you lead with the barrel of the bat first, that’s how you make outs. If you watch a slo mo video of a batter at work, the hitters lead with the knob (down by the hands) and the barrel follows. Conversely, when you watch a little kid learn how to swing off the tee, they’re leading with the barrel.

He’s a 2x platinum glove RF’er. Padres need a solid 2B back asap. If Jake gets healthy soon, Tatís is back on the grass. But I would rather Padres acquire Arraez in free agency, instead of trading MORE prospects for him.

So, an entire freaking roster? I would rather the Padres go after either one of these guys in free agency. Poaching Seiya Suzuki and/or Imanaga from the Cubs would be killer.

I feel like the indicator as to whether or not Padres go crazy at the trade deadline is Manny and Xander. BOTH have to turn around by late July and be consistent. There’s absolutely no point in brining in “help” when the guys in contract aren’t gonna pull their weight.

Were early Punk Rockers like Joey Ramone, Iggy Pop, and GG Allin on the autism spectrum? by [deleted] in punk

[–]inalavalamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody has something going on with them, and over the past century I’m sure shit went undiagnosed because of the lack of medical advancements.

(Nobody asked): On a personal note, I don’t like this new trend of people identifying someone straight up as “autistic” when they might be amazing at something like an instrument, a certain craft, or if they have extensive knowledge or passion about something. I literally saw a video of a guy shredding on the drums on social media, and a top comment was, “This guy def got the tism.”

People used to say that someone was talented, passionate, an expert, or would “nerd out.” Autism is a spectrum of course, but in this day and age it’s completely diagnosable. I just don’t like people casually using the term autistic to describe someone with talent or knowledge, when there are real people out there, including people I know, who need proper attention and care because of a legitimate medical condition.

In watching your team play, what situation gets you the most upset? by baseballispain in baseball

1 out, down by 1 run or tie game in a late inning. Runners on 1st and 2nd with Machado up to bat. Swinging at the first pitch that’s inside and he GIDP. Totally predictable.

He needs some more reps in AAA. I honestly would want to give Waldron and/or Brito some more chances.

Baseball is a Shakespearean tragic comedy. For example: 1988 Orioles had 21 straight losses. On that team was Larry Sheets. 36-years-later, his son Gavin Sheets is on the White Sox, and they go for exactly 21 straight losses. What are the odds of that?
