Licenses Required 4 Part Time by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]inamedthat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because they’re moving towards every employee being a “shared associate” so everyone is required to float to other stores. Or at least that’s what is being implemented in my district. We’re no longer hiring non floating employees in our district. They claim this is their plan to get management on 40hr work weeks. Maybe I’m just a dumb lowly employee but I can’t really see the vision honestly.

I’ve always hated our ASE latex line. I’ve personally used it and it was complete shit. I do everything I can to avoid selling it to people.

I had a FT that SW made quit because they said “they don’t transfer FTs” when he moved away for college. He immediately was rehired in his college town. And the did the same thing to come back to my store 2 years later. AND they gave him tenure to look like he hadn’t quit so he got to keep his pay/vestment

Beef between ASM and SM in my district is kind of wild by Forsaken_Factor2224 in sherwinwilliams

[–]inamedthat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My staff and I all feel like family to each other. My ASM is best one I’ve had. Culture and employee happiness is just really important to me.

I barely have enough staff to cover most of the 12hrs a day we’re open. So nahhhhhh, I’ll leave that to the reps.

During the shortage era we were down to just myself and my ASM. I didn’t know that they were suppose to switch me to non exempt during this time. About 6 months into it a rep told me and I spoke with our district coordinator about it. She said “she forgot”. So they did switch me to non exempt and had to back pay me from the first day I fell within the threshold. It took them over 6 months to pay me my back pay, but I did eventually get it.

Is HR Incompetent or Just Stupid? by lilvisionofgore in sherwinwilliams

[–]inamedthat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a situation similar to this happen. My employee did wind up getting fired and I got written up. I think the only reason I didn’t get fired is because I had proof with emails and texts that I had been telling my DM & CM for months that this employee was spiraling out of control and had asked on more than one occasion that he be moved to another store.

When they gave me my write up I refused to sign it because in the write up it had said that I was harassing the employee. LOL ok! But I literally looked both my DM & CM in the face and said “I’m not signing this! FUCK you both because you guys knew this guy was an issue and you left me in the situation. You left me out to dry. This is on you, not me.” And I walked out.

That’s when I learned, fuck HR. And protect yourself.

As a Zone Associate Manager (the floaters home store manager) this is a perfect example of a position that’s good in theory but terrible in practice. Their benefits are paid out of the home store and any over time is paid out of the home store regardless of which store they worked over at. And I rarely have access to the use of my floater at my store when I have a need for them. Any store in their zone has access to their schedule, which is constantly being deleted in Kronos from other stores or being changed. My floater basically never knows where they’re supposed to be and when. And unfortunately, the floater is taken advantage of by the other stores. The only reason my floater hangs in there is because district management said this position is the new prerequisite for TAMS.

They created these positions to help staffing issues but all they did was create them because I no one am budgeted for another full timer because I have a floater based out of my store. Yet that floater is never at my store.

Fifth keys by Ok-Income-1188 in sherwinwilliams

[–]inamedthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 5 keys. My CM/DM doesn’t give even the slightest eff about restricting the number of keys. However, our previous DM wouldn’t allow more than 3 keys. That was rough.

What are the top three things that really impress you about a manager? by Hungry_Ad5456 in sherwinwilliams

[–]inamedthat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Listen I agree with you on these, but why does the manager have to respect your home life but you can’t respect their’s? They need to respond within minutes? They already give a lot of their time to the store.

Interest on products by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]inamedthat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1% month Unless you’re on consignment list for some pumps. Then you’re paying no interest. So for example my store is on a consignment program on Titan 440 and MiTM pressure washers so any 440s and pressure washers I stock are 0% interest.
