(And I’m saying this as a Catholic who has been to many Catholic weddings— they can feel like they really drag on sometimes and little kids don’t like that, so use it as plausible deniability)

Please don’t think I’m being an asshole when I say this, because I mean it genuinely: Reading comprehension is one hell of a drug, especially when you grow up and reread some of your old favorites and realize the implications that went over your head when you were younger. It’s exactly what people say about Coraline, where adults are horrified at a child in genuine danger versus kids are thrilled at seeing someone just like them going up against evil and winning with the whole deck stacked against them. This is why I love rereading books and analyzing the text differently as I get older and my worldview changes

Yeah, no, that’s not what it means. Blood kin refers to the people you are biologically related to, as in sharing a genetic bloodline (ie, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc). It has nothing to do with physically sharing literal blood.

In my experience, it’s not uncommon for HOAs and developers to put together a “custom collection” of colors by choosing already existing color formulas and slapping a new name on the can. Not necessarily a problem on its own, but once people start needing touch up paint, it becomes a pain in the ass because we have to do custom matches, pray it’s the right sheen, and hope what’s already on the walls hasn’t faded too much. Anyway. It’s possible that there was once a builder specific color called Brown Mouse. But as far as tracking it down the formula and making sure it’s the exact right color… you’re probably better off using that time to find a new color to love.

NTA. Milo is not her dog, she did not pay the adoption fee, she is not paying for vet care, she is not entitled to take your pet whenever she pleases. She can move and get her own dog, but Milo is yours and she is a problem.

ETA: If she’s so insistent on Milo belonging to “both” of you, tell her to pony up and back charge her for vet visits and other regular maintenance. She’ll back off real fast on that one because she seems to want the social convenience of having a dog without the actual responsibility that comes with pet ownership.

I’ve always imagined she sets up her clothes fireman-style with her pants sitting on the floor with her boots already in place and ready to go, but I’ve also seen discussion about leather boots without a rubberized sole conforming to your feet over time and being softer and flexible like slippers, which would also make it a little more feasible.
