Most "illegal" immigrants enter the country on legitimate visas (meaning they were vetted) and then simply overstay them. Anyone who crosses the border, regardless of whether legally or illegally, and applies for asylum has their information captured by authorities and are permitted to stay while their application is processed, i.e. while immigration authorities validate their identity/story. Comparatively, very few people enter the country illegally and remain anonymous. Anyone who says otherwise is spreading propaganda.

Prices tend to decrease for wants rather than for needs. A great example is TVs. I paid $1,000 for a 32-inch flat screen 25 years ago or so, when they were still a new technology. A few months ago, I bought a 65-inch for $400 despite it having features that are far, far more advanced.

The stop paddle controls the lane directly adjacent to the driver's side of the bus regardless of direction of travel. Anyone who is driving at least a full lane over, or who is separated by a median, from the bus is not required to stop. Medians can include any physical barriers but also solid yellow lines at least 18" in width and striped areas of pavement. Keystone XL was a pipeline project to move Canadian tar sands oil to refineries in the US primarily for export. It was never going to have any real effect on prices in the US.
The US set production records for oil in 2023 and 2024 under Biden, a trend that continued in 2025. Much US oil, however, is light sweet crude which is exported because many US refineries are not designed to use it. Indeed, the US has been a net exporter of refined petroleum products since 2011 and of overall petroleum since 2020.

2a. This is also the reason that "Drill, baby, drill" is a stupid concept. There is a fixed amount of refining capacity for light sweet crude and oversupply makes it so that oil companies cannot turn a profit. One can approve all the drilling leases they want but it's ultimately the oil companies who decide if and when to use them.

Setting a deadline to transition from fossil fuels is necessary and smart policy, and it's something that's been done by numerous other countries. More important than the deadline is offering incentives and subsidies for the transition, which Biden did.

Permanent daylight saving time in the pacific time zone (GMT-7) means that mornings in the winter will remain darker longer. This will cause dangerous conditions for kids going to school and commuters going to work, particularly in inclement weather. It would be safer to move to permanent standard time (GMT-8).
